User reviews

Very nice app collector (updated review)

I’ve been using AppBox for a while now and there are several more features I’ve identified that would improve my use cases. First off, the developer HAS added the ability to select tags in the share sheet, so thanks for that (I’d still like to see the other items listed below implemented, though)!

Here are my new suggestions:

Ability to import and export individual collections as json rather than all collections at once, and the ability to import json into an existing collection. This would make it far easier to manage my large app collections by editing their json externally.

Ability to capture delisted apps into a collection when importing Apple AppStore csv data. I know the app lists import failures in its log view, but this is hard to read and impossible to search. The app cards for these could be similar to the custom app cards with whatever useful info can be gleaned from the csv file. It would be great if this process could use other public APIs to locate details for the delisted apps (I’m unsure what might be available out there, but some apps, like AppRaven, are able to list details about apps that are no longer available).

Finally, the ability to designate some other app property as the second row in the list view. I don’t use the “Detail” field for my large collection, and it’s annoying to see “No detail” on every row. I realize that app details are fetched as needed, but you already offer the ability to cache icons, so this could be similar. Slow moving fields like “Developer” or original AppStore “Category” could work pretty well.

Suggestions from original review:

Populate the share sheet with the current settings for the selected app. It would be really helpful to see the saved values for any app on my Home Screen without having to open and drill down in AppBox.

Full iCloud sync. This shouldn’t be a manual process. Just keep everything synced up.

String cleanup. There are still some random German strings and stray Chinese characters in the share sheet and app details in the English localization.

This is a much taller order, but a full Mac version! With all my collected apps across all devices viewable and cataloged on each device.

Great app organizer

This helped me solve an issue I had with ios default app home screen in that it limits how much can be added. I have lots of apps and Appbox made it a lot easier for me to find which app I need and for which purpose by organization.

Better

Bug

Hello, when editing the app notes to enter in subscription data, the Chinese currency is selected by default even though my main region is set to USA. Could you have an option where one selects the default currency?

Also, I am unable to edit the price when adding an app through the sharesheet. That would make things a lot easier.

Thank you!
