Stay for the fish and nothing else
The base game, collecting and feeding fish + aquarium expansion, is totally fine and you’ll progress over time. But if you want to design your avatar, get specialty/ limited fish, decorate, you better cough up some cash. I’m a returning player and starting new, but the starwish and heart wish systems are completely p2w. You can only get the currency from spending money. Avatar cosmetics are usually locked behind events or long play of particular mini games(?).

We’re sorry you had a disappointing experience, Curator. This game can be enjoyed either by grinding or spending. You can take your time raising fish and unlocking everything at your own pace. If you stick with it, time will bring you all the rewards you’re after.
