On to something special
Response from developer
Thank you so much for this thoughtful review! It's amazing to hear that Arcade95 runs smoothly on an external monitor with a mouse and keyboard, and that the browser and video playback hold up so well. That's exactly the kind of "it's really a PC" feeling we hope for. Your point about landscape mode is well taken, and using Arcade95 as a real desktop at work is a great idea. We're seriously looking into both for future updates. Feedback like yours shapes where the app goes next, so thank you for taking the time to share it.
This app is very great, and as I requested:
2: EXE Game Support
3: Playable HTML Games
That’s all. 🙂↕️☺️❤✅

Thank you so much! Quick notes on your list: on iPad, a mouse or trackpad already drives a Windows-style pointer, and a draggable cursor for touch is noted. HTML games already work — open Netscape on the desktop and type the game's web address. Running real .exe files isn't something we can offer, so every program here is rebuilt natively instead. Thanks for the ideas!
So nostalgic

What a wonderful trip down memory lane — thank you for sharing it! Pajama Sam and floppy-disk learning games were the best. So glad Space Cadet Pinball brought back good memories. Enjoy, and thanks for the great review!
Love it

Thank you so much — that really means a lot! Glad you're enjoying it. More updates are coming!
very nostalgic, please…
Response from developer
Thank you — that really means a lot! Good news on the first one: the clicky mouse sound is already in the app. Dialogs, windows, desktop icons and the Calculator keys all play a proper Win95-style mouse click as of version 1.6.0. If you're still hearing a beep, you may be on an older build — updating should sort it out. There's also a volume slider and a mute toggle in the taskbar tray (the little speaker icon) if you'd like to tune it. On a paid ad-removal option: I'm a one-person developer, so I don't have a plan for that yet, and I'd rather not promise a timeline I'm not sure I can keep. What I can tell you is that the permanent banner at the bottom of the screen is already gone — ads now only show up if you tap one of a couple of specific things, so the desktop itself stays ad-free. Thanks again for taking the time to write this.
Great!

Thank you! Rodent’s Revenge and Klotski are great picks — expanding toward the Microsoft Entertainment Pack classics is exactly what we have in mind. Please look forward to the next update!
Great app, needs work
Response from developer
An update on your feedback: classic click sounds are now included for windows, dialogs and Calculator keys, and the permanent bottom banner has been removed. Ads are limited to the activation watermark and Donate shortcut when you choose them. There isn't a paid ad-removal option at present. If a window still feels cramped, please send its name through the app's support link so I can check it. Thank you for the detailed suggestions.
Nice looking Windows desktop!
Response from developer
An update since my earlier reply: the permanent bottom banner has been removed. In the current version, ads appear only through the activation watermark or Donate shortcut when you choose to use them. There is no paid ad-removal option at present. Thank you for explaining how the ads affected the desktop experience.
Lying about ADs
Response from developer
I'm sorry the banner and the inappropriate ad spoiled the experience. The permanent bottom banner has since been removed. In the current version, ads are limited to the activation watermark and Donate shortcut when you choose to use them; they don't appear on a timer during play. Thank you for flagging the problem.
