So Much Fun

Love the ambient light experiment. Great for my son.

Broken

Adding sensors doesn’t work. App often crashes when trying to add sensors. Sensor selection menu doesn’t work. Sensors disappear. Unusable basically.

THIS REALLY TURNED ME INTO A TRUE SCIENTIST!

Thank you

Simple and Inspiring

A good introduction into conducting your own experiments.

Incredible

I wish I had known about this years ago. As an engineer I’ve been looking for ways to use my phone as a measurement instrument and this is it!

Get it and contribute to Arduino!

Keeps crashing

Downloaded to teach with but whenever I open up an experiment, it crashes. Deleted and re installed - same problem. Everything is up to date. Annoying.

Currently Broken

🥲dev needs to update etc.

Epic

Very epic

One of the worst science apps out there so bad

Not working

This app once worked. I could submit a technical question on a website link I found. Not sure what else to do? Tried to remove and reinstall nothing works anymore. Will freeze on loading dashboards with a blank screen.

Response from developer

Dear user, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the app. Please send us a report of the issues experienced at https://www.arduino.cc/en/contact-us/. Make sure to let us know your device model, OS in use, and a short description of the steps to reproduce the issue (a bullet points list will be enough). If you have a blank screen (no opportunity to create a new experiment) make sure the operating system is updated to iOS 15.2.1, this may fix the issue. Please keep us posted with updates. Best regards,

Joe

Awful

The worst physics app ever, great effort(not really) in making this app but awful execution, very complex, also it didn’t work when I needed it to. I walked down 4 flights of stairs by myself and tried to gain a signal in the middle of a parking lot looking like a fool just to get no signal. I really hope you guys reimburse me for my wasted time, my group almost publicly lynched me after I came back inside the lab with no data. Thanks again for a lot of wasted time and a not so fun experience with this dumb app! BOOOOOOOOO🤡

Response from developer

Dear user, we are sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with the app, and we are also sorry that you lost all data. In order to collect data for further analysis you will have to actively press the record button as shown in the tutorial guide available here 👉 https://science-journal.arduino.cc/sj/module/getting-started-1/lesson/setting-up-experiments. Another reason why your data may be lost is because the device didn't have enough storage to save the data recorded. We suggest that next time you double-check with your group the instructions on how to properly run an experiment, and make a data collection test to make sure that your device is working. If you require further assistance with the app or support please send us an email at support@arduino.cc. The app doesn't require any connectivity to collect data from the phone. The data stream is collected using the data coming from your sensors. We would love to hear back from you and see any feedback you may have. We are really looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Blank screen?

I have an iPhone 13, iOS 15.02 and all I see is a white screen that begins with you have no experiments. Fair enough, select the plus symbol on the lower right and now I get, “You have no observations yet”. Very true, but the app doesn’t allow me to make any observations.

There isn’t any sort of command, tool bar, option. Rotating the screen, pinch, tap, pull down or any command doesn’t reveal any sort of resolution.

Oh, it must be a setting issue. Look for the app in the setting menu and only the 2 options I see Siri access and language.

I’m stumped.

Response from developer

Dear User, We are aware of the issue and we are currently investigating it, we hope to be able to fix it asap. This issue seems to be affecting users with the iPhone 13 and iOS 15.0.2. Upgrading to the latest OS update (15.1) should fix the issue. Please keep us posted with updates at support@arduino.cc, and apologies for the inconvenience encountered. We are really looking forward to hearing from you soon.

so dead, boring, wast of time

Quit working on iOS 15 update

Please fix

Response from developer

Dear User, thanks for reporting this. We have performed tests internally and we are unable to replicate the issue. We recommend to reboot the device after the upgrade, uninstall the app and install that again. Also check that your device has enough storage. If you still experience issues, we recommend contacting support@arduino.cc specifying your device model, operating system, and steps to help us replicate the issue. Best,

Awesome but…

This is a great app, haven’t spent too much time on it however it would be great to hook up Arduino sensors to it to extend students and also the camera is causing a lot of crashes

Response from developer

Hi Kathleen2708, the app supports the Arduino Science Kit, and the Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense board. Both solutions have sensors :) . I hope this helps. :) Edit: If you are experiencing crashes with the camera please contact our support team at support@arduino.cc. We need to understand what device model you are using, and what OS version is installed in your device. Please send us also a short description of when the problem occurs. We'll make sure to assist you. Thanks

Quite useful, with one limitation

App is great, I’ve been using it for data collection. It would be nice if the time measurements when recording data were precise to the hundredth of a second.
