About
Argot turns vocabulary practice into a slide-and-merge puzzle you actually want to play.
It works like the merge games you already know, with one twist: instead of matching numbers, you match a word with its translation. Slide "car" into "carro" and the pair climbs to a more advanced word. Match enough pairs to clear the level, and pick up real vocabulary while you do it.
SEVEN LANGUAGES, ALL FREE
- Spanish, French, Indonesian
- Japanese, Korean, Thai, Arabic (native script with romanization)
LEARN FROM YOUR LANGUAGE
Choose your mother tongue in Settings — Argot translates from the language you already know. English by default, but a Spanish speaker can learn English, a French speaker can learn Japanese, and so on.
FIVE LEVELS PER LANGUAGE
Work from everyday words up to advanced vocabulary, themed by topic — family, travel, work, science, and more.
FEATURES
- Simple swipe controls, quick rounds
- Tiles color-coded by language so a match is easy to spot
- Native script shown with romanization for Japanese, Korean, Thai, Arabic
- Pick your difficulty: easy, medium, or hard
- Background music and effects, with full volume and mute controls
- Lifetime stats, and progress that unlocks the next level
- Plays fully offline, no account required

What's New in Argot
1.2.0
June 27, 2026
A big gameplay refresh: • Slide a single row or column with one finger, or two-finger swipe to move the whole board. • Line up three or four of a kind for combo bonuses — and bank match-points you can spend to instantly pair any two tiles. • Clearer matches: the words you just matched pop up front and center, brand-new tiles flash, and duplicate words now clear together. • A fresh look for every level, from Dawn to Midnight. • Tuned difficulty for a better challenge. Thanks for playing — keep merging!
