The name Ariel means “Lion of God.” It is found six times in the Hebrew Scriptures—once as a personal name and five times in Isaiah 29 as a synonym for Jerusalem. This same imagery is echoed in the Book of Revelation, where Yeshua is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
