About

Arpan is a globally recognised, award-winning non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to protecting children from sexual abuse. Arpan is scaling up its work and reach through partnerships with government bodies, school chains and NGOs across India. Arpan’s flagship programme involves educating children and adolescents (aged 4 to 18 years) about personal safety, empowering them to identify and seek help in unsafe situations. Alongside this, Arpan focuses on training and building the capacities of stakeholders to help them replicate and scale the delivery of Child Sexual Abuse prevention and healing services. This initiative includes training and building the capacities of stakeholders, such as NGO professionals, schoolteachers, institutional staff, health and mental health professionals and government duty bearers, through digital content and e-learning platforms. To bolster this initiative, Arpan has developed a robust training management information system (TMIS) that serves as its technological backbone. Objective: The training MIS of Arpan has been designed with several key objectives in mind. The primary goals are to: - Provide a multiple-model convergent portal for defining all training programmes (basic and advanced), their schedules, participant attendance, follow-ups, pre–post assessments and feedback. - Build a robust informational and interactive training analytical system. - Develop a customised app to collect attendance-related data and monitor participants’ progress in the training programmes.  - Develop a single app with two interfaces for facilitators/trainers and participants, respectively. - Pilot the new training programme. - Periodically report key performance indicators (KPIs) to track participants, from registration, attendance, pre–post assessments, feedback, and handholding to the implementation of the PSE programme in the field with children and adults. - Manage administrative and user information alongside other features, such as dashboards, report generation etc. We anticipate this MIS to have a profound impact on Arpan’s mission by: - Empowering Trainers: Enhancing trainers’ capabilities to help them deliver effective Personal Safety Education Training of Trainer sessions. - Making Data-Informed Decisions: Enabling Arpan’s leadership to make informed decisions based on real-time data. = Increasing Programme Effectiveness: Improving the overall effectiveness of the PSE TOT initiative through continuous monitoring and evaluation. - Scaling Impact: Facilitating the expansion of Arpan’s reach and impact by identifying key areas for improvement. The development of Arpan’s training MIS marks a significant stride in advancing Child Sexual Abuse prevention through education. By harnessing the power of data, Arpan aims to not only enhance the effectiveness of its training programmes but also contribute valuable insights to the broader field of child protection.
