No SUPPORT

I would love to write up a review. I have use this app with good success on many occasions. However I run into some snags that I would love to be able to get some help on. There is no contact information anywhere that I have been able to find on the Internet.HELP PLEASE??

Requires to be updated

No Star, because it has lost it functionality.
The New Base toggle is not attaching/importing a base image from the Photos/Albums library. To resolve the frequent crashing issue and “delayed response” of the toggle I thought it was my 6 years old iPad Pro. Now with my new iPad Pro it is worse.

Response from developer

Hi Vartanami - We're sorry to year you're having a problem. This is usually an easy fix. Apple has recently changed some privacy settings for iOS which has cut off photo access from the app for some users. If you go into Settings and find Arrette, look for Photos under "Allow Arrette to Access." If you set it to "All Photos" you should be good to go. Please contact us through the website directly if you need further help.

Best design sketching app

I’m an architect and I take work home all the time (apologies to my family...). On the way out the door I snap a photo of my current sketch and at home I can bring it into Arrette and put down any new ideas to explore in detail at work the next day. Since the app works at scale, I can sketch details without driving myself crazy the next day trying to make the furniture fit.

Not ready for use

Can't do much with this app....and the big problem is, there is almost NO instruction on how to use it. Save your money, or spend more on a more developed program.

Good until it crashes

Not worth using if I have to restart every 2 minutes. Crashes more than any app I’ve ever used.

Response from developer

Hi BeckettKael, Sorry to hear you’re having problems with crashing. We’re glad to hear you like the app otherwise. Please get in touch with us at support@arrette.com if you are able and we’ll try to troubleshoot the issue. Thanks, Arrette team

Lots of Uses

I’m not a person that would typically use a design program. However, Arrette convinced me otherwise. I have used Arrette for landscape design, deck design, interior design, and measuring areas for projects. Just take a photo and work from there. It saves time, is simple to use with helpful tutorials, and ensures accuracy. Please keep this app simple and easy to use.

Good app, good progression from trial to pro

Their free version is Arrette Sketch. I used this for a couple months before I took the plunge and paid for the full Arrette Scale version. I’m glad I upgraded, though the Sketch app could be enough for some people. Anyway, I use this for working through design ideas and sending quick thoughts to my team by email. I occasionally send things to clients as well, though a few more output options (like vector PDFs) would make this app even more useful.

Not good

Non intuitive app with very limited resources. Not at all great for architects. Not even for non professional home projects.

Response from developer

Hi “nko123456789”, Thanks for your input. We value constructive feedback and would love to hear more specifics about your experience with the app. Please contact us through our website if you have anything to add that could help as we continue to improve Arrette and make it even more useful to the thousands of architects and other designers who already make it a part of their workflow. Sincerely, The Arrette team

Some strong features, but missing functionality

The scale, tracing and distance features are great strengths but some frustratingly basic functionality is missing: layer duplication, project duplication, and rectangular selection.

I am obligated to write a review.

I was initially looking to get a drafting app to help myself organize furniture for my new apartment. I have decided to construct an impartial review of the following app I have just purchased for $8.99. It does have its uses and setbacks as you will see listed below.

Use this app if you would like to achieve the following:

- Find incentive to throw your newly purchased Ipad against a wall.

- Realize you have too much hair and would like to pull some out.

- Trade places with a deathrow inmate who is about to be murdered by the state.

- Decide that your eyes are not essential organs and you would like to proceed to gauge them out with a plastic fork.

- GIVE MONEY AWAY TO INCOMPETENT APP DESIGNERS OUT OF SYMPATHY

If you are looking to do something such as DOWNLOAD A SLIGHTLY NOT TERRIBLE APP, i'd suggest you look elsewhere in the app store.

Thank you for reading my review. If I can get a refund on this app, I would very much appreciate spending my lunch money elsewhere

Response from developer

Hello “Transparent Text”, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you have not found the app useful. Thousands of architects and other designers use Arrette Scale and the free version, Arrette Sketch, for design sketching at scale. Arrette provides a canvas for design with essential tools like a straight edge and measuring abilities. While the app has been used successfully by many people, it is not for everyone. We have provided the free Sketch app to allow people to use many of the app’s capabilities to see if it will be useful for them before purchasing the full featured version, Arrette Scale. User input has been very helpful to us as we improve Arrette. Please contact us through our website if you have specific feedback about app use and performance. Regards, The Arrette team

Arrette Scale

A useful drafting app which would be improved with a Text function. Jpeg images can be tediously labelled using the Text menu on Pages on an IMac.

Mostly good

The pinch to zoom feature has gone haywire. Otherwise it’s a good app.

Great app

This is a great app for drawing to scale. I have looked at many and this is simple and easy to use. The ability to add a base layer and apply a scale is very powerful.

Am looking forward to seeing some updates, it would be great to see some stencils or pre-drawn components for elements that are often drawn such as doors, it would also be good if you could edit the base layer without drawing over the grid in white and allow for offsets of the rule in mm rather than full cm dimensions.

Even without these features would highly recommend!

Doesn’t do what it’s advertised to do

The line function doesn’t work properly actually nothing works properly.......it’s a really cool idea and It would be great if the functions work right. A word to the developers great idea I love it but it needs some more work...... I look forward to updates that address functionality! Can’t wait to use it when all the tools work? 👍🏻

Hi contractorjon, could you give us a few more details about some of the functions that weren't working correctly?

Arrette Scale won’t display screen shot image!

I am new to this app and just downloaded a paid version of it. Took a screen shot of a Floor plan to use as a base image and it can’t do it! Paid $10 for it but it cannot do the one thing I bought it for! How do I get my money back?

Just needs more layer functions

*update* Too bad developers missed the boat. Morpholio Trace was so far behind back when I first made my review and now they are so far ahead. It's everything I was hoping for in this program.

As expressed before to the developers, this versatile program could almost totally replace my tracing paper, especially when I am travelling, if they would make the layers being able to be duplicated, rotated and moved around (displacement). That is how you use trace when you design and it's just a small step away from making this a reality. (Sure I must admit it is a small step in user interface point of view but I don't know how difficult it is to achieve in programming terms.) Please make this happen!!

Please add support for Fifty-three "pencil" stylus

Pencil by Fifty-three stylus support for users using iPad 3 and/or other iPad models, since not everybody has an iPad Pro, which is the only iPad that supports Apple pencil, so users like me using older models are stuck with just the finger.

Open up new ways for users to interact with your app by integrating Pencil, the award-winning Bluetooth stylus from FiftyThree. The FiftyThree SDK lets you take advantage of industry leading features such as palm rejection, advanced touch classification, and effortless Bluetooth pairing.

FiftyThree's products are renowned for their craft, simplicity, and expressiveness. We put these same values into the design of our SDK. FiftyThree SDK was made to integrate painlessly into your app and unlock powerful creative possibilities.

Great Product - Labeling Fail

I love the idea, function, and possibilities of this app.....with one minor flaw.......PLEASE ADD A TEXT BOX!

I get that this is a "sketch pad" style app, drawing with your finger or stylus. However, it is way more functional than that as you can be pretty accurate with the drawing using the Edge. The problem is dimensioning. I feel like I am losing a lot of function in the app in that I cannot place a clear dimension on a wall. Finger writing a dimension just comes out sloppy looking every time. It is not very precise, or you have to zoom WAY in to get this accomplished, and still it looks bad. A simple text box or typewriter tool would remedy this.

I am using Arrette Scale as a design-build general contractor. This is a great app for the field using my iPad and stylus. I can quickly generate a scale scenario and send to an engineer or subcontractor. However, as stated above, I am disappointed that I cannot add some readable dimensions to a field sketch. Just user feedback for thought!

Keep it up! This is a great product!

Super amazing!!

This app is the main reason I bought the new iPad pro. The drawing and the scale function work seamlessly together like no other app out there. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is that it really needs a two finger ruler and a cut and paste function.

Eh... Potential...

So many good things about this app, but almost all need some tweaking. The biggest reason for giving it only three stars though is that I cannot for the life of me understand why I only get four color options and two line weights. This keeps me from progressing beyond a certain point in virtually every project.
