The New Base toggle is not attaching/importing a base image from the Photos/Albums library. To resolve the frequent crashing issue and “delayed response” of the toggle I thought it was my 6 years old iPad Pro. Now with my new iPad Pro it is worse.
Response from developer
Hi Vartanami - We're sorry to year you're having a problem. This is usually an easy fix. Apple has recently changed some privacy settings for iOS which has cut off photo access from the app for some users. If you go into Settings and find Arrette, look for Photos under "Allow Arrette to Access." If you set it to "All Photos" you should be good to go. Please contact us through the website directly if you need further help.
Best design sketching app

Some strong features, but missing functionality
I am obligated to write a review.
Use this app if you would like to achieve the following:
- Find incentive to throw your newly purchased Ipad against a wall.
- Realize you have too much hair and would like to pull some out.
- Trade places with a deathrow inmate who is about to be murdered by the state.
- Decide that your eyes are not essential organs and you would like to proceed to gauge them out with a plastic fork.
- GIVE MONEY AWAY TO INCOMPETENT APP DESIGNERS OUT OF SYMPATHY
If you are looking to do something such as DOWNLOAD A SLIGHTLY NOT TERRIBLE APP, i'd suggest you look elsewhere in the app store.
Thank you for reading my review. If I can get a refund on this app, I would very much appreciate spending my lunch money elsewhere

Hello “Transparent Text”, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you have not found the app useful. Thousands of architects and other designers use Arrette Scale and the free version, Arrette Sketch, for design sketching at scale. Arrette provides a canvas for design with essential tools like a straight edge and measuring abilities. While the app has been used successfully by many people, it is not for everyone. We have provided the free Sketch app to allow people to use many of the app’s capabilities to see if it will be useful for them before purchasing the full featured version, Arrette Scale. User input has been very helpful to us as we improve Arrette. Please contact us through our website if you have specific feedback about app use and performance. Regards, The Arrette team
Arrette Scale
Mostly good
Great app
Am looking forward to seeing some updates, it would be great to see some stencils or pre-drawn components for elements that are often drawn such as doors, it would also be good if you could edit the base layer without drawing over the grid in white and allow for offsets of the rule in mm rather than full cm dimensions.
Even without these features would highly recommend!
Doesn’t do what it’s advertised to do
Response from developer
Hi contractorjon, could you give us a few more details about some of the functions that weren't working correctly?
Arrette Scale won’t display screen shot image!
Just needs more layer functions
As expressed before to the developers, this versatile program could almost totally replace my tracing paper, especially when I am travelling, if they would make the layers being able to be duplicated, rotated and moved around (displacement). That is how you use trace when you design and it's just a small step away from making this a reality. (Sure I must admit it is a small step in user interface point of view but I don't know how difficult it is to achieve in programming terms.) Please make this happen!!
Please add support for Fifty-three "pencil" stylus
Open up new ways for users to interact with your app by integrating Pencil, the award-winning Bluetooth stylus from FiftyThree. The FiftyThree SDK lets you take advantage of industry leading features such as palm rejection, advanced touch classification, and effortless Bluetooth pairing.
FiftyThree's products are renowned for their craft, simplicity, and expressiveness. We put these same values into the design of our SDK. FiftyThree SDK was made to integrate painlessly into your app and unlock powerful creative possibilities.

Great Product - Labeling Fail
I get that this is a "sketch pad" style app, drawing with your finger or stylus. However, it is way more functional than that as you can be pretty accurate with the drawing using the Edge. The problem is dimensioning. I feel like I am losing a lot of function in the app in that I cannot place a clear dimension on a wall. Finger writing a dimension just comes out sloppy looking every time. It is not very precise, or you have to zoom WAY in to get this accomplished, and still it looks bad. A simple text box or typewriter tool would remedy this.
I am using Arrette Scale as a design-build general contractor. This is a great app for the field using my iPad and stylus. I can quickly generate a scale scenario and send to an engineer or subcontractor. However, as stated above, I am disappointed that I cannot add some readable dimensions to a field sketch. Just user feedback for thought!
Keep it up! This is a great product!
