Friends of Fauna Delay 😭

Thank you for finally adding season 2! One thing that I noticed was that when I tap on the season2 purchase thingamabob, it says it costs $9.99. But when I tap it again to actually purchase it, it says it is $7.99. I’m not bothered by the lower price but I’m just curious. Another thing is that the Friends of Fauna is taking a VERY long time, so please add more!! On a positive note, I appreciate that you added the list of artists and I enjoy the humor of the puffin background!!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A thought provoking challenge

“The Art of Fauna” ~ what an absolutely wonderful / beautiful application! I found it only because it was mentioned in a newsletter as the WINNER of an Apple Design Award for “Inclusitivity”. I am not a gamer but do enjoy a thought provoking challenge periodically. “The Art of Fauna” exceeds that description! Artwork, application design, fauna write-ups, background calming sounds, ALL aspects are a winner! It is also very clear to me that the author strives for perfection with nothing left to chance. As a past Info Technology professional, I love seeing this kind of quality and obvious pride in one’s work, as it’s a rarity these days. If you need support, a response is immediate and thoughtful. Give this app a go!

Maravilhoso

Jogo maravilhoso, podia ter a opção de colocar em português.

More Pleas!!!

I really enjoy this game with all the animals. I have been looking for one for a very long time! The only thing I want to add is that maybe speed up the friends of fauna puzzles? I am also looking forward to season 2!

Lovely - but

Lovely gameplay, beautiful images etc BUT there is no information on where the images come from. These are real works of art and the source publication and illustrator should be given.
Also when I started the game there was a set of options but having started there seems to be no way to get back to that screen. So it feels like an over-curated tunnel experience rather than a place to explore

Muito bom, gosto demais dele

Acho as artes lindas e os quebra cabeças muito divertidos

Beautiful and informative

Beautiful graphics and smooth, you can adjust the setting for special accessibility or just colors for fun! Love how informative it is in flash card style.

Gorgeous wildlife in puzzle form

Probably my favorite app! It can be frustrating at times but there’s great satisfaction in finishing a puzzle and revealing a beautiful illustration of animals and birds along with an explanation of the subject. I’m a senior and I love it!

This game is so calming and the birds sounds are so good I highly recommend this app for people that are stressed and need a minute.

Love it

So calming and peaceful…and you get to learn some neat things about animals!

Beautiful Brushes, Bogus Beasts: My Kongamato Complaint

“Stunning visuals and buttery-smooth interactions – this app is a genuine delight for anyone who loves painting their way through the animal kingdom. The artwork pops, the puzzles are clever, and I’ve lost more hours than I care to admit making digital masterpieces of majestic beasts.”
“However… I have to file a formal complaint with the Fauna Police. While I’m happily painting realistic elephants and coral reef fish, I suddenly run into a ‘creature’ that looks suspiciously like it flew straight out of a Zambian campfire story. Yes, I’m looking at you, Kongamato – proud breaker of boats and breaker of my educational dreams.
If the goal is to teach users about real animal species and their habitats, sneaking in folklore cryptids feels like discovering a unicorn in the African savanna section. One minute I’m learning about actual biodiversity, the next I’m painting what is essentially a pterosaur cosplaying as a swamp monster. It’s like going to a science museum only to find Bigfoot doing interpretive dance in the mammal exhibit.
Please keep the mythical beasts in the fantasy apps and let this beautiful tool stay grounded in reality. My inner biology nerd (and apparently my inner cryptozoology skeptic) would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, fantastic work – just minus one star for the fictional fauna infiltration. 🦇”
Thank you!

Response from developer

Hi! Well, this is a bit of what I feared when introducing the Cryptozoology package. There are three puzzles, the Kongamato is the less obvious one, but the Jackalope and Nessie are a bit more on the nose. These puzzles were added earlier this year as an April Fools joke. I had a bit of marketing around it, pretending these were real creatures, but then revealed in the app on April 2nd that they were in fact fictional, cryptozoological beings. You'll still get that message after finishing the Nessie puzzle. Now, my biggest mistake here was that I haven't yet updated the texts to make it immediately clear that the Kongamato and the rest are fictional creatures. The puzzle set itself also needs a proper description explaining what cryptozoology is and why this package exists. That's on me, and I'll be fixing it. That said, I do believe there's real value in keeping these puzzles, and not just because people found them entertaining. Understanding that certain creatures don't exist is part of understanding the natural world. And they are still deeply rooted in certain cultures and imageries, that people might think they are real creatures. After seeing its drawing, a friend of mine actually thought the Jackalope was an extinct mammal from the age of dinosaurs. So teaching people about these creatures and making it clear that they don’t exist can be helpful. But for that to work, the app has to be upfront about it, and right now it isn't. So I'll be updating the descriptions to make the context clear from the start. Thank you for the kind words and the thoughtful and the feedback, it's really helpful. And in case you still disagree with my point here, please just reach out via email and we can discuss this further! Cheers, Klemens

Lovely game

The puzzles are fun, the art I gorgeous, the sounds and movement is intuitive. Thanks y’all!

ts so tuff boii

no seriously this is addictive

Interesting

You can learn about the pictures

Very good

Unfortunately I am unable to play the paid version for personal reasons but for those who can it is definitely worth it. Specially the high level difficulty puzzles are absolutely amazing and I learned a lot of new things. They have a few collections for free you can enjoy and then decide if you want to unlock the rest with a payment. The quality and ambience of the game is top notch and i recommend it.

Love!

This is such a beautiful game, its so calming and I love being able to turn off animals or graphics I dont want and I love the information of the animal on the back! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Full Version

Please add more free puzzles, I understand you need to make a living however theres a significant lack of free puzzles and it's kind of ridiculous. The game is beatable in a day and yes, very cute and cozy, however maybe consider adding holiday packs or more complex puzzles or mythological creatures to have to be bought rather than the entire rest of the game. This game has so much potential and it hurts me to rate it so low however 10 out of 13 packs hiding behind a paywall is insane.

Wonderful

This may very well be my all time favorite app. And if I’m being honest with myself, this may be the first newsletter ever that I read fully start to finish. I adore you, Klemens!!! Good job!!! ❤️
