Oh Yeah—This Is My New Favorite App

As a total art and history nerd, I was basically foaming at the mouth when I saw this. Verdict? It did not disappoint! If you want to give yourself a manageable bit of education about art, a base line, this is a great app. I’m pleased that it gives year, type of painting (materials used), and size. It’s rare to find something that is thorough in small ways, but also summarized nicely. It breeds that wonderful curiosity to dig deeper on the pieces you are fascinated by, to discover what art movements you prefer.

Now onto the actual paid content. For being an app that does have a subscription, I think the pricing is definitely reasonable for what it offers. However, it’s extremely rewarding on its own, even without the subscription. The subscription feels like it’s for people who really enjoy the educational aspect, and want to use the app as a guide to begin learning. That said, you still have access to certain collections, subjects, and genres. As if giving you a taste on the chance you want to invest further than just an artwork a day. Ultimately what I like is that it feels like a choice to subscribe, not a requirement. You still have access to the main features, and that is WONDERFUL in a world where so many excellent apps don’t even allow you to open it without paying. You get what it says you will, it doesn’t lie, and you have the active choice to get more if it fascinates you.

Also, the apples they gift you each visited day are so quaint and I adore them. The widget feature is delightful, and definitely adds some beauty to my home screen. In fact, the whole app is designed beautifully, hats-off for the people who worked on it! Hats-off to the entire team!

So Lovely

This app changed the way I experience art. The daily artworks come with meaningful stories that make me look at paintings differently. It’s not just about beauty — it’s about seeing the world through the eyes of artists. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves creativity and calm moments.
