Great App but downloading images can be a pain
I use this when I'm away from the internet but be careful when updating the APP, after an update it loses image previews and images which force you to wait until you reach WiFi. Also you have to keep the screen open when downloading new images or artist databases. The internet is fast but downloading a 200 MB database can take up to 15 minutes. If they ever update the background downloading and fix the bugs with APP updates, I would recommend this to others.

Great art app
Very good selection, and if you buy the artdatabase catalogue you will also receive all new catalogues as they are added. Great deal, and I am very happy I purchased the entire catalogue.

I am not understanding the negative reviews at all! I am a Charlotte Mason style homeschooler and this app is a dream come true! $10? Really? Instead of hundreds for huge bulky coffee table books with lackluster reproductions? Yes please!! The works are endless and comprehensive, the images are stunning, and it has crashed on me just a couple of times...ummm...so what? I just pull it back up again. So excited to mirror my screen on apple tv while I teach my children this year...this app will be used every day!!

Apparently there has been no art since 1920.
Downloaded this to browse modern art. There is none listed, despite the presence of a Mondrian painting in the app's icon. Maybe there's 20th century art in the complete collection, but I'm not paying $10 to find out. There are collections by century, but they stop at 19th. Collections by movement exclude all 20th century movements.

. Don't get suckered into buying 99¢ apps from get-rich-quick app mills purporting to give you hundreds of paintings by an artist, which turn out to be mediocre or crappy reproductions.
. Also, when I wrote to the maker of this app and told him that I was interested in Charles M. Russell, it was not long before he included this great painter of the American West in his already extensive catalogue. When I downloaded it, the artwork proved to be of superior quality.

lackluster
Great idea marred by mediocre scholarship, terrible image reproduction, and patchy software. Not worth paying for.
Not meant for 4+
I downloaded this app because it's rated for 4+. It's a good app but it's really meant for 17+ because there is some nudity. It's not an app that I can keep on my children's iPads.
The best!
I am an artist and educator. This is by far the best app of its kind available. I use it for my own research and for teaching drawing and painting. The zoom is a GREAT addition!

I agree. The recent upgrade made this app a lot more enjoyable and easy to use. I'd love to see a version with modern painters.
After IOS5, It Now Crashes Every Time
I bought this app several weeks ago and it worked fine. I purchased the full version for $9.99. I downloaded IOS5 on my Ipad2 yesterday, and since then, it crashes every time I try to open it. Please fix this ASAP or issue a refund. It is unusable. Thanks.

Best art app
I have downloaded several art based apps and this is by far my favorite. The Full Acces Pack is a great buy
Not worth the full download
Ok quality. One can get better free apps or just search on the web. Free version is ok but definitely not worth the money I spent to get the full version! Try the free vizeum app. It's head and shoulders above all the other art museum apps available.
Super quality
I have downloaded several art based apps and this is by far my favorite. The images are all of exceptional quality. I downloaded the Sargent catalog. Considering that I would have to pay 40$+ for a fancy coffee table book, this is a great buy.
