A very intuitive app

I find artist3D very straight forward and easy to use. There is the option of text help. This feature is helpful. Also, it did not take me long to figure out how to use the various tools. Keep up the good work, Thomas Jung!

Oodles of emergency saves

There must be a bug causing ongoing "emergency" saves. Only option in this case is to completely shut the app down, connect to iTunes, and remove the "emergency" files.

Don't waste your money

This app is unintuitive, hard to use and has no useful help. Don't buy. Waste of money

Solid modeler but needs some features

I must say the idea of how you model is good. It is pretty easy to model in this but with a few more features it could be even better. I think that the image plane needs to have a lock function. So if you move your view the image stays still and be able to do this in multiple planes at the same time. I must admit it is very annoying when you rotate, zoom or pan it moves and stops lining up proper. The second feature is a snap function depending on orientation with adjustable value. This would be good for accurate movement and detail work. A lot of cad programs have a snap tool all a little bit different. The third but not in dire need is classic view modes top, right, front and the 3d is covered. This could help with using the images on locked planes. I honestly can say if those first 2 things were implemented well I would start almost all of my base modeling in this regardless if I have my desktop right in front of me with expensive 3d apps.

To those looking at this if your looking for a new modeling experience this might be right for you. It is very good as I am more of a cad style of modeler.(rhino moi sketch up) So to make things as organic as a really good base blender model without the ui mess was extremely nice. Well worth the money for modeling on the go.

It's gonna be awesome..

UPDATE:
I learned something about saving -through trial and error. Just pushing "save" says "wrong extension"....so when I make up a name then say as an addendum: .obj, it will actually save the item :) it's not perfect... And needs a folder of ALL saved files to see at once, but at least it saves a little now, and they can be reloaded from the save. :)
I can load pics for textures now. ...you need to add the pics in iTunes first though. I'd be nice if I could use the pics from the ipad camera and photo folder. :)

UPDATE:
everything great still applies, plus there's one slight improvement with the "workaround" update:
the app no longer crashes when I try to load a pic from my photo gallery.... yay! ... BUT I still can't load a pic or save a file. The options stays blank and say "empty". (ipad 3 running ios6). I think it would be nice if there was a way to approve pic access from ipad settings app. That might help with that issue?? anyway...

I think this will one day be my favorite app. It's really fun to use the other features.... When it's fully up and running I'm gonna be SOO excited!!

---------------------

It's terrific in design and easiest from-scratch modeling on the iPad. Also comes with GREAT tutorials... One problem: it keeps crashing on my iPad 3... Anytime I try to either load a photo or save a file. 😂 I'm running ios6. I'll be patient for an update. I think it will be worth it.
