I use this all the time
I pretty much check this application before leaving the house every day. It's like traffic reports, except pirates.
While this may sound over the top, it isn't. Consider math: number of times I have driven places after using this app: 971. Number of pirate incidents: 13 (but those were Pittsburg Pirates fans, which I don't think this app will cover until the next version?).
Either way, using the internet vetted premise of correlation = causation, this application has increased my safety by a ginormous amount.

Useful app!!
This app is very interesting to identify piracy on the seas and oceans. I like that it is updated from data pulls from servers.
