About
Draw your photo the way you want it!
ASCII. started from a simple wish — to make ASCII photos that actually look good.
On top of the visual calm of vintage computer graphics, it adds colour and a brush,
so you can make your own images and enjoy doing it.
Unlike plain converters, you can lay a rainbow-coloured pattern over the frame, and
paint your own brush to make a picture that exists nowhere else.
With a 3-second loop you can also make the kind of ASCII video you have seen in retro
games, and lately in horror games.
If you need longer, a one-time purchase takes it to 15 seconds — but 3 seconds is
already plenty for something good.
[Main features]
- An ASCII character camera. It converts to ASCII, and to other character sets too.
- Rub the brush over only the spot you want, and only that spot becomes characters.
- Record what you see as a video with the loop.
- Save it as characters, not only as an image. Send the text in a message.
- Six character sets: ASCII, digits, binary, braille, blocks, and any letters you type yourself.
- Give a brush shape you like a name and keep it. It loads straight into your next shot.
- Cut out a circle, or flip the inside and the outside.
- The rainbow filter drifts slowly. When a colour you like comes up, lock the palette and reshuffle the layout.
- You don't have to shoot right now. Bring a photo in from your album and turn it into characters.
- Shoot in 4:3 or 1:1.
- No account, no server, no advertising. The camera view never leaves your device.
[What you get for free]
A fresh install comes with 24 shots you can save at full resolution.
After those, shooting and saving carry on just the same; only the saved size drops to screen size.
You can keep three brushes, and loops run to 3 seconds.
One purchase opens full-resolution saving, unlimited brushes and 15-second loops.
It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
