Fingerspelling Practice

Helps improve one’s receptive fingerspelling skills. Great practice. The only thing I wish they would do, is add numbers so maybe someone could practice fictional emails, phone numbers, addresses, etc. However overall great app.

Pretty helpful but lots of adds

I like this app because it helps me a lot with fingerspelling. It has helpful tips and is a good app in general. But, there is way too many adds. Every time i do something an add pops up. If they let adds pop up less frequently it would be better.

Great and Simple!

This is a great app to help with fingerspelling recognition. It’s really improved my confidence!

Listen

This game overall is good. However if you don’t know a word instead of helping it just give you the answer. Just in case you didn’t know… this app isn’t an asl learning app all it does it spelling asl. But you probably won’t need this app forever just until you remember your abcs and are good at reading them.

Good practice speed

Feedback- I wish it would play in the background while I did other things on my phone. ADHD multi tasking. Ie: listen to law and order in the background while practicing fingerspelling recognition. My previous app did it just fine but this one does not.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback - I’ll write this down as a potential future feature!

An Unimaginably Low Effort App

There’s just one recording for every word, and the speed option is just the same file played slower or faster. There’s no realistic cadence of how Deaf people actually sign. The only reason anyone uses this roiling cesspool of garbage that aspires to mediocrity is that nobody has bothered to make a better app. They are the king of the trash pile.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I don’t usually write reviews but I felt this app deserved my praise cause I really enjoy it. Exactly what I was looking for, a simple tool to help me with fingerspelling. The videos flow super nicely with minimal distractions to keep me focused. There are lots of words prerecorded with very little repetition but I would love more since I’m gonna be using the app super often now! Definitely recommend this app for anyone learning!

Finger speller helper

I really like this app! I am hearing but learning ASL for about 2 years now and also have really wanted to finger spell quicker. It is really training my eye to read faster. I especially love how I can change the speeds.
Easy
Medium
Hard
Etc…

Perfect!!

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for as I practice and try to improve receptive fingerspelling! I love that you can choose the difficulty level and also word length.

Great for my students

This is precise and allows my students to see someone else’s hand than my own. Thank you!

Best app for this

Super awesome app! It’s the best looking version of apps like this and has all the speeds and options you need with no fluff. I really recommend it.

IVE BEEN HAVING SM FUN LEARNING!

My bf is a CODA and I got inspired from him and his family to learn asl. I’ve been learning for a year now, on and off but I can definitely see improvement from when I first started learning. But cool thing is that this app has helped me even more when my bf can’t! I’ve gotten better with memorizing the alphabet and being able to understand finger spelling better. This app is great, and it’s free!

Love this app

Learning asl in college and this app has helped a lot

layout needs improvement

the general app functionslity is good. however, on the ipad the keyboard hides the nput field making it difficult to see if you have entered the answer correctly.

AMAZING! I RECOMMEND!!

this app is so amazing! They have different levels and different genres to study! I just love waking up and learning more!! I totally recommended (ps. There is no subscription/pro basically no money spent! ^_^)

Perfect for quick daily lessons

I love this app because of its simplicity. It does one thing, and does it well - improves your finger spelling skills. I like the ability to choose from beginner to advanced lessons as I’m not a real fast learner. It has been a great tool for my ASL learning!

Great practice

I’ve been practing asl for a while now, and got decent at finger spelling. But reading what other people are saying has still been an issue for me (especially the T, N, and M getting mixed up.) but this app has helped me a lot, and it has enough words that it can be hard to memorize them, meaning it reduces predictability and you actually have to continue to read it out. I do still think there should be more since I got a few of the same words more than once, but I think I’ll have mastered finger spelling before it becomes too predictable. It also allows you to reduce the amount of ads for free, which I respect so much I chose to continue having a lot of ads to support the developer of this awesome app. Communication shouldn’t be monetized, and this developer knows this! 10/10

Wonderful Tool for Learning ASL

I have tried numerous tools, but this one is the best I have used. Highly recommend…easy to use, easy to grow my ASL competence with it, and the smooth real life motion from letter to letter makes the connection to real world finger spelling. Thank you so much for a high quality and useful tool!

Absolutely Love!

I got this app off the reddit group for ASL and I’m loving it so much. It mimics the smooth hand movements that you’ll see in real life while a variety of options you can select as you improve. Very simple and easy to use, anyone can figure it out!
