About
"That person I just walked past loves the same OSHI as me."
Aster is an app for noticing, after the fact, the fellow fans you crossed paths with.
■ Cross paths now, hear about it later
When another user comes within 100 meters, the two of you are recorded as having crossed paths. The notification arrives about ten minutes later, and the record stays hidden until then — never in real time, so nobody can use Aster to find where you are now. The same person is recorded only once per hour.
■ Your crossings become a record of your fandom life
Each entry keeps the date, the rough place name, and the other person's nickname, OSHI and icon.
■ The map shows your own history, never anyone's position
It shows three things: where you are, places you yourself crossed paths, and each area's fandom energy. It never shows where another user is or was. A crossing marker sits on a place you passed through, visible only to you; it carries that person's icon, labelling your own record.
■ Feel the fandom energy of your city
Each area carries a pin for the group with most energy. A pin is a count, not a person: it sits at a fixed area centre and never moves with users.
■ Tell people about your OSHI
- Register up to four OSHI (group name, member name, image)
- Set a nickname, user ID, icon and short bio
- Add your X / Instagram / Threads / TikTok account names
- Swipe a profile card sideways to flip through your OSHI
■ Footprints
When somebody opens your profile, they leave a footprint. Only the date is shown, not the time.
■ Choose whether your icon can label other people's records
Turn off "Show me on the map" in Settings: you are no longer counted towards any area's energy, and your icon is never used on anyone else's record.
■ Private areas
Register up to three private places, such as home or work (adjustable radius, roughly 200 m to 3 km). While inside one, your location is not sent, so no crossing is recorded there and you are not counted in that area's total.
■ Reporting and blocking
You can report or block another user from their profile card. Both are free, and neither is revealed.
■ Friends
Send a request with a friend code; once accepted, you are friends. Friends see each other's photo and OSHI member name even on the free plan; no location or history is shared. Ten sign-ups with your code earn one month of Premium free.
■ Premium (paid plan)
- See your crossing history clearly at any time (free plan blurs entries older than 24 hours)
- See other people's profile photos clearly (free plan: friends only)
- See the member name behind somebody's OSHI (free plan: friends only)
- See other people's social account names (free plan shows only which services they use)
- No ads
- Open profiles without leaving a footprint
- Same-OSHI filter: avoid crossing paths with people who love the same member
■ About privacy
- Your exact location is never shown to other users
- Crossing notifications arrive about ten minutes late, never in real time
- You can delete your account from inside the app at any time
■ About location access
Aster uses your location in the background, even while you are not using the app, so it can detect when you cross paths with somebody. Continued background use of location can shorten battery life.
■ About subscriptions
- Plan: Premium (auto-renewing subscription, 1 month / 3 months / 6 months)
- Price: shown on the purchase screen inside the app
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
- The subscription renews for the same period and is charged again at each renewal, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- After purchase you can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renew any time from your App Store account settings
