This game was an all time classic when I had my very first iPhone. I played this game nonstop and I missed playing this game even today! Please make it compatible with newest versions of iOS/iPadOS! 😊

Playable on iPhone 4s
I have to update a review for this app that I had posted previously. I discovered that while I can't play this game on my iPhone 6s, I can play it on an old iPhone 4s that I had used before I got the newer phone.
Once I learned that my 4s still had a purpose, I was able to play the game and save my progress. I finally was able to play it through until I had completed all levels. However, I suggest spending a couple of bucks and buying one of the upper-level ships that are offered because the scout is rather useless. Buy the battleship, even though it's a bit slow, because it can take a beating.
But, don't look for any updates for this app in the future. Not only has this app not been updated within the past couple of years, Atari doesn't even discuss this game on their website anymore.

Great update to a classic!
One annoying stupid flaw:
The illiterate idiots who design these things don't know how to read so when they flash your objective tips up on the screen at the start of a game the dummies leave the words up way too briefly! Nobody could read some of those lines fast enough!
This is a rampant problem not just in illiterate games but by inexperienced editors of movie trailers, films, TV programs, commercials and the culture in general as illiterate millennials and foreign scum continue to take over with their stupidity for convention if not inventive pioneering otherwise.
STOP and think morons and the managers of these monkeys MUST BE FIRED!

GREAT reinvention of a classic! Love the new graphics, weapons, ships, dual control, sounds, and everything else. I won't take a star off, but the enemy ships should be more aggressive. Thanks Atari for taking a great nostalgic game and giving it a proper modernization.
CONTROLS
I found controlling the ship and aiming the gun to be very difficult as you have to do both simultaneously with both your thumbs. I suppose my brain simply doesn't work that way. After being blown to pieces 10 times in a few minutes, I was annoyed and deleted the game.

Just decided to give this app a go again... In 10 minutes it has crashed about 5 time already. Profile? Crash. Select ship? Crash. Start level? Crash... Etc. still some issues huh? Guess I'll try back in another year...

I tried to contact support but they just told me to talk to apple...so I did and apple told me to contact Atari lol. Today I said to hell with it and deleted and reinstalled the app. Its back to the last version (that works) but still all my achieves and cash are gone. Ty Atari!

Love...but
I really love to play this game! The problem is that since the last few upgrades in IOS it crashes almost every game! I am so frustrated! Please make the fixes! Soon!
Buggy; Crashes EVERY time I attempt to play
It seems that with every operating system upgrade, this app gets more buggy and prone to crash. It now crashes every time I attempt to play. Every crash wipes out my score. Not worth my time. Too bad too cause it was a great game. At this point, I wouldn't purchase anything that says 'Atari'.

This game is great except it crashes way to often. I don't mind the ads. Fix the crashes!
Could Be So Good
Would be great if not so money hungry. Can't get to the good ships without a credit card. Sad Atari. WILL NOT RUN ON IOS 8!!!! Come on people. Takes forever to build up enough "crystals" to buy an upgrade that does nothing. Greedy greedy greedy.
Questionable - Be Wary
Game crashes intermittently, wasting your money. You have to spend money on special weapons that only last while you're playing. It resets when you die or exit out, so make the most of it while you're playing or you're just wasting money. If the game crashes - you're SOL. It's an otherwise fun game.

Fun but crashes WAY too often
In particular, it crashes shortly after starting the game, which means those expensive power-ups are gone, and you get to spend more. This is with nothing else running in the background, recent reboot, no temp issues and no problems on other apps. Omega tech auto-harvest doesn't work, the military ship is weak, slow, and poor range! Thinking of deleting if not fixed...

Still no price????
I haven't played this game for quite some time and finally decided to play it again... I am amazed to see that there still is NO PRICE for the upgraded ships.. I would gladly spend some money with you guys if I actually knew how much money I needed to spend... And I'm not going to upgrade to the full version and lose all of the progress I have made just to start over...

This would be an awesome game if it did not constantly crash. Then you lose everything you've earned (ore & weapons. Since your loot is stolen it forces you to buy more with cash. Talk about a ripoff! Fix the game!!!
Can't progress due to crashing constantly
In order to progress you must mine crystals but the game crashes constantly and you lose all mined crystals...getting nowhere. Until this is fixed it is a total waste of time to try and play.
bad omega tech
fun but game keeps crashing and you lose recently mined ore. also, omega tech is expensive, only lasts one round, and from what i could tell does not work. i loaded my tech into slot, then during game tried pressing the tab and the d@mn thing would not turn on, activate or whatever. nowhere does the game say this is unavailable on free version. Totally useless.
