Great for quick Seestar FITS edits

This is a great app - nice one developer! I can quickly export raw files from my Seestar, save to my phone and then import the fit file into this app. It’s lets you do some quick edits to bring out details, colour etc, even gradient reduction. You can then export as a tif so you can further edit in Lightroom. There are loads of features. Denoise wasn’t quite strong enough but overall this is a great app for a quick mobile workflow. There is nothing else available like it - I’d highly recommend for any Seestar or Dwarf user if wanting to edit on the go

Still crashes after selecting AI and star reduction

This is a useful tool for quickly editing images…when it doesn’t crash. The most recent update was supposed to fix the crashes, but it doesn’t. 75% of the time, when I open an image and try to reduce the number of stars through AI, it crashes. I can’t use a program that constantly crashes, especially the features I bought it for.
UPDATE 04-09-26: The problem seems to be more stable now. The developer asked me to upload a few images I had edited with this program and he tweaked it. I find myself using this program for doing quick edits. It works well for that.

Pretty good but…

Really cool tool but the AI tool still makes it crash after the bug fixes.

Awesome

Works very well for what it cost and the platform it’s on. I’m happy with it.

FAQ

What does AstroEdit do?

AstroEdit is an AI-powered mobile application designed to enhance astrophotography images. It offers advanced tools to remove noise, stars, gradients, and satellite trails, alongside essential image processing controls like exposure, curves, and sharpening.

What are the key AI features of AstroEdit?

The app's key AI features include noise reduction, precise star removal, gradient removal, and satellite trail removal. It also offers an 'Oval Star' correction feature specifically for images from devices like the Seestar S30.

Is AstroEdit free to use?

The application is free to download and use, with in-app purchases available for unlocking its full capabilities. Students belonging to astronomy societies can also request promotion codes for free installations.

What are the system requirements for AstroEdit?

For optimal performance, especially with AI tools, a device with at least 4GB of RAM is recommended. Devices with less than 4GB RAM will use a lighter version of certain AI features, potentially resulting in degraded quality and a maximum image size of 1080x1920 to prevent crashes.

What file formats does AstroEdit support?

AstroEdit supports opening and saving high-quality images in both TIFF and JPEG formats. This allows for flexibility in working with various types of astrophotography data.
