Pause button?
This game needs a pause button. Pretty basic.

Frustrating!
The graphics are well done and I love the retro sounds but the controls make it very frustrating to play. There's way too much drift when you change the direction of your ship, making it almost impossible to avoid collisions. If this is fixed I will gladly update my review.

Great sound & graphics and game play
Id give this one SIX stars if i could. Great graphics and awesome sounds. This game just FEELs like the old time shooters. So many of the iPad games LOOK great graphically, but you download them and play for 30 seconds and say "what a piece of crap". Anyway, great price at 99 cents -- you won't be disappointed.
What I'd change in this game -- use Web high scores and 2) use rapid fire on the button. Also, you should be able to start at any level -- if you lose all 10 ships you have to start again at level 1.

Asteroids ON Steroids
This game kind of reminds me of the old Macintosh game MAELSTROM. The great graphics and sounds and the great backgrounds with each level also reminds me of the Centipede game Apeiron -- anyone remember that one for the Mac? I love the Monty Python sound bytes! Anyway, great action -- I like how the ship's shield makes you bounce off the walls. This gets into some really intense action starting about level 10. The developer needs to add some web high scores -- that's the only thing I'd change. Oh yeah, and make the FIRE button BIGGER!!!! All in all, a NEW great CLASSIC type arcade shooter. Way worth the price.

I think if the fire button would fire while holding it down would make this game more enjoyable, cause shooting you target can be hard if your thumb is not in place and it doesn't register the press all the time.
