About
Practice ATC radio calls out loud and get a verdict that does not wobble.
A controller transmits, you key the mic and read back. Your transmission
is graded element by element — callsign, runway, frequency, altitude,
heading, squawk — on your device, with no network call and no model
deciding how it feels today. Same readback, same verdict, every time.
SAY IT LIKE A PILOT, NOT LIKE A SCRIPT
Read the elements back in any order. Add "with you", "roger", your own
filler — none of it costs you a point. Skip an optional element and you
keep the credit. What gets checked is what the controller actually needs
to hear back.
"tree" or "three", "niner" or "nine", "fife" or "five" — all accepted.
Your readback is judged on meaning. The controller still speaks strictly
by the regional standard, so what you hear stays correct.
MISHEARD IS NOT A MISTAKE
When speech recognition does not catch you, it is not scored against
you. You get a neutral prompt and a retry, and it does not count. A
headset pulled out mid-transmission should not look like a botched
clearance.
35 SCENARIOS, 187 EXCHANGES
- VFR: traffic pattern, Class B and Class C transitions, flight
following, Special VFR, closed traffic and the option, Delta
transitions
- IFR: full CRAFT clearances, void times at a closed tower, vectors,
ILS, RNAV and visual approaches, holding, missed approach, en route
with Center, weather deviation, pop-up clearance
- Abnormal: go-around, rough engine, minimum fuel, windshear and runway
change, weather diversion, traffic alert, VFR into weather, cancelled
takeoff
REAL RADIO, REAL WORKFLOW
- Push to talk, the way you actually transmit
- Built to work in a headset, wired or Bluetooth
- Controller speed, pauses between element groups and radio-band effect,
all adjustable
- Pick the controller voice
- Fully offline: recognition and grading both stay on the device
NATO PHONETIC ALPHABET, FREE
- All 26 letters and 10 digits, with audio and IPA
- Morse code
- Quiz you answer out loud
- Translator: type a name, an address or a booking reference and read it
back to the call centre letter by letter
WHAT IS FREE
The whole NATO layer and the translator. Radio realism, speed, pauses
and voice selection — those are free too, because the material is what
is sold, not the sound. Two of the 35 scenarios are free: the Melbourne
traffic pattern and coastal flight following. No account, no card, no
sign-up to try it.
WHO IT IS FOR
- Student pilots working toward a first solo or a checkride
- Rated pilots getting current again after time off
- Pilots who do not speak English as a first language and want the
phraseology to come out without hesitating
- Flight simmers getting ready for VATSIM or IVAO
- Instructors who want a repeatable drill between lessons
NO ADS
Not now, not later.

ATC Trainer is a practice aid for radio phraseology. It is not an FAA
publication, not a substitute for instruction from a CFI, and not for
use in flight. Airport, frequency and procedure data is there to make
practice realistic and is not maintained for navigation.
