Great premise, bad controls, needs a difficulty adjustment.
I generally like games like Athenian Rhapsody, and I think it has a lot of potential to be great. It’s quirky, silly, and a lot of fun. But the difficulty is awful. It can be torturous to play because there’s no way to modify the difficulty level to make it easier, not everyone is a pro gamer. Chill mode is a joke btw, it does almost nothing to help with the difficultly level. Specifically the fight with Bobomew is frustrating and annoying- you are in a battle that’s not a typical battle, you can’t use any health aids because the menu is oddly blocked and then when you think you finished the battle, you have to do it all over again for round 2 and it’s gets more challenging. I don’t understand games that don’t give us a way to navigate around difficult moments. The frustration and annoyance with the battle just makes me not want to continue the game, and it’s a shame because it can actually be a fun and entertaining game. Also Bobomew isn’t the only battle that I had to do over and over and over and over again. Having to redo a part of a game dozens of times, it gets to the point where it’s not fun anymore.
Also for the love of god, why is there no option to move the D-pad.

Great game 10/10 🤤
This game is great the story the character (my favorite is areosol and horatio) the only thing that really bugs me about it is that the uncle Billard fight isn’t fixed
Undertale on crack
I played this game on switch but chose to write a review here as well. This game is hilarious, wacky, and has an incredible soundtrack. Plus, it’s cheap! ($8 on mobile and $15 on console). There are also multiple routes to take which increase the replay value. idk what else to say… just play the demo already!

Crazy good game
Fun, good dialogue, good game
Repetitive combat
Delightful psychedelic world with unique writing. I just wish there were fewer tedious, repetitive battles in true JRPG fashion. Why do I have to fight the same enemy 10 times instead of just once? Chill Mode exists but I’d rather just have well-balanced combat.

I remember having this game, but erasing it later, and months later I come back and see that the uncle Billiard fight was patched, only to download the game again, make it to the section, and still not being able to move the spatula up, and only being able to move left and right, has it really been fixed?

Athenian Rhapsody is honestly a fantastic and beautifully-made RPG, and although similar to Undertale/Earthbound in style, it easily stands apart with its own sense of flair. I bought it off a whim on Xbox and adored it, so seeing it available in the app store was a pleasant surprise.

I very very rarely leave reviews on mobile games, but I literally stopped playing just to write this review. You’ve gotta get this game, I’ve played hundreds of videos games and this became an instant top 10 for me. I’m genuinely surprised a game of this quality is mobile, it could easily be sold on Steam and it would be just as awesome.
The characters are hilarious, interactions are always worth while for how over the top the facial animations and all of the hip kid lingo 😂
I absolutely love all the different ways I’m able to approach encounters, you can make friends in a ton of different unique ways during battle, or just smack them in the face lol tons of fun loot and friends to find, unique silly weapons and outfits, lots of cool events that make you want to backtrack thru the map to find things
legitimately this game is 100% worth 8 bucks, if you enjoy Undertale you’re going to love this.
Also, your first available party member is a weiner doggy, so I mean even just that is worth 8 buckeroos.

I love the gameplay and the aesthetic of this game.The characters are so fun. The jokes are funny. Honestly this game is quite memeable. I appreciate the randomness of it and i think the creators did a fantastic job making it fun and colorful but also challenging!

Game starts then crashes(?)
I’m able to get past the title cards and producer cards but as soon as the dog stops running NOTHING happens, no buttons work, I cannot for the life of me figure out what to do
Really fun!
From what I’ve played, this is a really enjoyable game! It’s like Undertale but if you mixed it with a bit of final fantasy, and then covered it in a layer of whimsy. Sadly, I’m a dork who isn’t able to buy the full game, but nonetheless, I still enjoyed my time with it!

Funniest Thing I’ve Played in Awhile
Reminds me heavily of undertale with the game mechanics, but extremely meta, breaks the fourth wall a lot, has a lot of unhinged characters but also very wholesome at the same time. Haven’t played through much yet but amazing so far, funniest and most original game I’ve played in a long long time.
I just hope we could customise the appearance of our characters a bit or give them clothes to wear at the start that show up, unless ofc it’s not supposed to be altered cos lore or smth.
