Truly Unique

One of my favourite synthesizers for serious use amongst only about a small handshake of other Awesome developers of functionally useful beautiful sound design tools...Top 5

Essential for experimental music

One of the most inspiring creations tools for anyone making experimental, abstract or just other-worldly music.
Worth every damn penny.

A Breath of Fresh Air

I’m going to start this with my only negative critique of Atoms. Some of the presets in Atoms sounds similar. Beyond that if unique is an exciting concept read on.
And now the heap of praise.
If you are looking for a unique sounding synthesizer Atoms is an excellent choice. It is on the cold side of the sound spectrum. I like things that are beautiful and allow you to dirty it up which can be a great thing especially if you’re doing industrial music.
The GUI is beautiful and austere. The timbres tend to be lush and have a nice LFO structure. When I say lush, I mean, in the overwhelming sense of movement over time in the often times unexpected gurgling and unexpected changes in “feel” that Atoms excels at.
If you were looking for the next beautiful warm virtual analog, there’s a very good chance you will be disappointed.
I watched a couple of videos just the idea of what Atoms sounded like and depending on which reviewer and their audience the results were very different with people that saw virtual analogs, tending to not understand what Atoms was capable of instead, demanding that a synthesizer falls into a certain niche. So when Atoms was discussed, the VA crowd didn’t understand or care to understand what this wonderful synthesizer could do. Similarly a different reviewer and their audience saw Atoms for what it was and in general were enthralled with it. I’ve fallen into that camp.
If you’re scoring for media, if you like new ways of programming ambiences, if you like film scores, if new and unique are a plus then Atoms is for you.

Highest recommendation.

GARBAGE GUI/UX

Why is this being sold for iPhone?!!! Even on a Pro Max, the GUI/UX is microscopic and you can’t even choose any options or set it up for MIDI control. Useless - going to request a refund. @Baby Audio - DO BETTER!!!

I dunno…

I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews on YouTube. Maybe they were listening to another synth? 😄
I found a bunch of inspiring presets in minutes. Admittedly some are not for the faint of heart! But there’s definitely a lot to work with IMHO! Five stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Native iPhone?

The synth is great… but useless on your phone as you can’t tell what is what… although it works flawlessly on the phone, this is really a desktop version ported directly instead of resized to make sense on a phone screen.. so there really isn’t an iOS version of this yet.. kinda feels like modded desktop software that’s more novelty than it is useful….

Sound is great

Great sounding not-too-synthetic synth, with easy control.

Port to iOS not quite there

Doesn’t look like much has been done to adapt the interface for iOS. Hardly useable on iphone and unconventional on iPad. Sounds cracking however

Not for Phones

Seconding the first review here. I’m getting pretty tired of popular desktop plugins just porting over to iOS without any consideration for the different interface. It works fine on iPad. iPhone 13 Pro is still unusable. Tiny unreadable controls that are tricky even with a stylus and huge amounts of wasted space. They could have at least picked more readable fonts.

It’s ridiculous to have all the fanfare, marketing, emails, and acting like you’re working so hard to bring us something special, only to put this out. You really thought this was good enough?

GUI too small

Please make it bigger. Too small to use on iPad Air 4 and iPhone 15
