If I had a super wish list, it would be:
Live update/sync between multiple devices (I have multiple iPads in my class, so if it was simple to scan with two and speed up the process and have it sync... well that’d be the dream)!
Also, is it ios13 supported already? Thanks for your work!

Syncing is very difficult and can have conflicts so I haven’t tried it yet. I don’t want to risk data corruption. You can put half the class in one class on one iOS device and the other half in a different class on the other device and then copy the course to one device so one device has both half-courses on it but you can’t then combine into one course file. I’ve done a little testing with the early iOS 13 betas and the app works (although there’s no support for dark mode). I will do more checking as we get to the later betas and make any updates if necessary.
Outstanding App For Teachers

The Attendance app has been critical to me for a long time because I could quickly and easily capture student photo with student name and email those pictures with 2 clicks to supporting colleagues. I am still learning the new app & Mr. Dave is very responsive and has an FAQ web page with fast to-the-point tutorials that address your needs.
There are various reports to email and I do hope that a one-click solution for emailing photos will be added.
I absolutely love this app that is clearly by a teacher for teachers.

I have used this app to have choirs of 60 students scan in before class (I know of one director who had 120 and had students scan in via two different iPads...one for males, one for females). I have used it on a tour, having students scan in as they walk by me.
There are a number of ways to handle the scanning ability (QR codes). You can generate the QR codes outside the app, or the app will do so as well. You can print them or distribute them digitally. I found that my high school students, particularly on tour, would take a picture of the QR code and scan in with their phone—the backlighting of a phone works GREAT.
Also...printing the QR code on labels (I bought a box of full page 1/2 page UPS labels), I could put labels in folders, causing students to have to have their folder at the start of class (there is a tendency in choir for students to get their folders AFTER warm-ups, which is always an annoyance for the teacher).
I have taken attendance a number of ways, and this has always been the most effective and accurate. I can’t praise this app highly enough.
So yes, it isn’t “pretty.” It doesn’t matter...it is a heavy weight champ in my world.

Thanks for buying Attendance2 and leaving a review. There are a couple options for this. 1. On the screen where you've taken attendance for the day, scroll the top buttons and press "Communicate". The last three rows there give you the option of report including everyone with their attendance status, a report just listing those not there, or a report of just those who were there. This is for that single day. 2. On the main screen for a course, scroll down and select Spreadsheet report and that will generate a report showing the statuses for everyone for all dates between the start date and end date that are specified in the Report settings. You can also customize what fields appear in the report using the Report Settings. Assuming I understand what you're asking and this helps, I'd greatly appreciate you updating your review to 5 stars. Hi evalarad. Thanks for buying Attendance2. Yes, the old app was originally written for iOS 2 and could no longer be reasonably maintained. The new app has a lot more features and has much better CSV import of rosters. Once you select your course, all the option are in list on the first screen with the most commonly used ones at the top (adding a date and taking attendance). Below that are options for adding students, followed by settings, and then the various report options. Yes, it's different but I think once you use it a bit you'll find you can use it much more efficiently.

The reports are perfect as I am able to email a school with the attendance of a class within a set time period in minutes.

Review # 2 *after update* --- After creating a spreadsheet that filtered everything correctly, this app works perfect. The UI improvement of the header color was a great and needed touch. Once you get to know the app, it's good. Still wish I could've just customized the spreadsheet output, rather than use a series of formulas and several sheets.
Review #1 --- I wish the look and functionality were like the Red Hawk Attendance app. This one is a bit confusing and a tad tedious. Love the customization and calculations. I'd like it even more so if you could customize the exported spreadsheet a bit. My specific want would be to have just the names and the total scores showing. After months worth of classes, that's a lot of data to sort on the horizontal axis of my google doc.

Thank you for buying Attendance2 and for taking the time to review it. Adding a button is easy but getting sync to work reliably in all cases is very tricky and it's possible there could be conflicts if both people update a course differently. Because of that I don't want to try to get sync working as data integrity is my primary goal (i.e., I want people to know they can trust the data). I'm also not certain you can put a shared Dropbox file in an app container. I hope you understand that the app is designed for individual use in a classroom. It's certainly flexible so it can be used for many tasks, but for a one-time cost of $5, I can't support a multi-user system with all the complexities necessary to ensure a reliable syncing system. In my experience, most people take attendance on one device primarily and occasionally look up at the data on another device. I have added the option to automatically back up to Dropbox so what I do is choose that option on the device I primarily take attendance on (my iPhone). And then if I want to look at the data on my iPad, I restore the files from Dropbox. As far as the reports, it sounds like you just want totals. I'm not certain which report(s) you're currently using, but it sounds like you should check the "Summary report" or "Summary spreadsheet report" as they don't contain details for each day. Also, please check the "Report settings" option as it allows you to do a fair bit of customization as far as what is included in the reports. Hope this helps, Dave
Ski Trip - Made Easy
The data we use is pretty simple and the formatting is rudimentary (i.e. not flashy) but then information is critical and at finger tips of every chaperone.
On the six hour bus ride to VT we have each kid come to the front and we verify all information and take their picture to add to the file. Having the picture on hand also good for safety, name recognition, etc.

This app is beyond amazing!
I don't know of any other app that allows attendance to be taken with personal QR codes. I just give each high school student a print out, they take a pic of it and scan it each time they come in.
You can even personalize late times, class times, and if you want to email them or their parent on account of an absence.
This app has saved me so much time, whoever developed this is an angel!
