About

Ask most travel apps where to go and they'll send you where everyone else is going. Atypical Voyage does the opposite. Name somewhere obvious — Kyoto, Barcelona, Santorini — and it stamps your choice DECLINED, then finds you the same soul somewhere the crowd hasn't reached yet. WHAT IT ACTUALLY DOES - Twin matching — 277 places scored across eight dimensions: terrain, light, walkability, café culture, street grain, grandeur, bohemia, water. Not "similar vibes." A measured distance between two places. - The weirdness dial — four levels. At Mild you get sensible neighbours. At Feral it crosses oceans, and Chicago comes back as Rosario. - 131 destination dossiers — how to get there, when to go, when to stay away, what it costs, what's worth the detour, and one rule worth knowing. Every one also lists The Catch: the honest downsides, because every place has them. - Crowd calendar — any charted place, month by month, so you know which weeks are genuinely worth avoiding. - Judge My Trip — name the places you're planning and get scored on how predictable you are. Then we refuse the worst leg and suggest something better. - Soul profile — nine questions, no right answers. Produces a reading of what you actually respond to in a place, then charts destinations against it. - Beacon — share where you got to with people back home. A link, a tap, nothing running in the background. Never automatic. - The atlas — every charted place, sorted by how flooded rather than how photogenic. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT ISN'T Every dossier tells you how it was sourced. Most say "researched, not yet walked" — because that's true, and we'd rather show you the gap than invent a forecast. If you've been somewhere and we got it wrong, there's a button to tell us, and someone reads every one. Some places carry a note before you go. Antakya is rebuilding after the 2023 earthquakes and wants visitors back; we say so plainly rather than listing it as a quiet alternative and leaving you to find out. NO ADS. NO TRACKING. NO PAID PLACEMENT. No destination has ever paid to appear here, and none ever will. Nothing is sponsored. There's no advertising identifier and no cross-app tracking. Your saved places and routes stay on your phone. Free. All of it. Built by one person, from Portugal, for people who'd rather not spend their holiday in a queue.
