Basic and keeps signing me out
Annoying, because every time I go to look, I’ve been signed out and have to go looking for my library card.
Bizarre
This app is bizarre. To go to anything other than borrowing books it takes you to the website where you have to log in again. There’s no point in using the app, just go straight to the website.
Not reliable since day 1
As many have already pointed out, the app not reliable and randomly log me out as well as my linked accounts. Most of the time I only found out I was logged out when pick or borrow books in the libraries. I then have to talk to the librarians . This has completely defect the purpose of having the app. However give it 2 star as when it works it really nice to have

A brilliant redirect to solid curated information
Auckland Libraries is a great Ap. It meets the objective of being purely functional and delivering great performance without unnecessary bells, whistles and imagery. It directs to solid curated news for all as opposed to instant gratification of social media. Access to Pressreader, ebooks, on line videos and documentary for free, order books on line, with link to Libby is brilliant. It is really good to see something clearly well written. It does require following some easy instructions and an AUCKLAND LIBRARY CARD. I recommend picking one up from your local library if you do not have on. Ignore all these 1* troll ratings. A great tonic.

Better look but not as reliable
I love the recent new update of the app, it refreshed the UI nicely, and made it better when using multiple linked accounts (convenient when you have kids). However it has now a tendency of logging me out frequently, and I then need to enter again my own card detail, as well as each of the linked account. It would be great to fix this!

App works perfectly, never had any problems since I started using it in 2018.. great new features lately, easy to find what I need and reserve books or get notified.

Since I downloaded the update I have not been able to search for books. It freezes every time
Much needed upgrade
The latest upgrade (Jul 2021) is long awaited. The app is a lot faster, more functional and allows users to link multiple accounts. Thanks for the good work, and not a moment too soon
Can’t login
The app wouldn’t even let me log into my account. The nav buttons are unresponsive have the time.

Seriously the worst app I have ever used in my life. Extremely slow, not user friendly at all. And now it doesn’t even show the name of the books that I have on hold or have checked out. It is so useless.
Virtually Unusable
Still virtually unusable, crashes, times out. If you’re lucky enough to search something the app is incredibly slow
Very outdated and slow
Not sure if this is the official app but it’s super slow and has terrible interface design that makes you guess what you should press.

Needs work
A good idea, but is not as good as the previous website. Needs to be more user friendly and easier to navigate.

Horrible
A hellish app - sometimes it works but very often it just doesn’t. Poor tech support - whoever maintains it doesn’t care much. Best to access the library from their website if you don’t want to lose your hair.
Was excellent - currently terrible
This used to be a great app that I used every couple of days. Ever since the update in mid 2019 it has timed out constantly. Other people have been saying the same thing I see but still no fixes in sight.
Too slow
The app takes too long to load. I really like the barcode feature especially when I forget my card at home! If it’s quick to load and if the interface changes then can see to give a better feedback!
Big problems
Yikes, I use this app every week, and normally it is great; but the latest update has made it REALLY unstable. Lots of glitches, long cycling time, times out, unresponsive. Badly needs a tune up. I love this app - just want the developper to know there are issues so they can hopefully get it fixed!
Great app - suggest Wishlist
Love the app. can see all my books out, renew borrowings etc and i’ve discovered magazine online borrowing as well. all great. My request is that you add a Wishlist because when i search for a book, i don’t want to borrow it or request it right then, but would like to come back to the list next time i want to borrow something. at the moment, i make 2-3 requests for new books (which often require waiting a week or six as other users borrow them) but then they all arrive at once and i have to race to read them before their due date! it would be great to see what i Wished for, see how long the wait time is and select accordingly. Finally, how about “UberBoooks”? Pick up my new requests and my returns from home / work, for an extra fee?

Slow and cumbersome
I like that you can request and check due dates. I hate that I have to filter through a dozen “digital copies, audiobook, CD guides” and other nonsense before I find the regular book I want. It would be cool to filter out all that noise.
Plus it’s really slow to use. Every click takes a few seconds to load.
