Love it

As of many things, the audio Catholic Bible is a tool. I listen to one chapter each day while I’m having my morning coffee I do many other things throughout today to praise our Lord and Catholic Bible helps me get started.

Poor Audio with lots of static

Because I paid almost $13 for the audio readings of the Bible, I would think it should be a lot better than what I got. The static or the background noise is very noticeable. And in this day and age I would think this would be easily solved. AlsoThe NArrator has a different accent which isn’t difficult But seems strange. I would love to get my money back.

Love this!

I love this app. The narrator is great, love the accent and the way he reads. Not sure why so many reviewers didn’t like it. It is a beautiful old translation of the Bible. It is lovely. I was happy to pay for it.

Not really free

Not really free

In English and not free

What you get free: table of contents and a few chapters read in English
For $12.99 you actually get the Vulgate in English. But what I wanted was the original Latin. Keep looking.

Actually costs $13

You can only get the first two chapters of each book for free. The reader is hard to understand due to the static in the recording and the antiquated translation. This would be fine if it was free, but if you want to spend $13 on it I’m sure you could find a better recording than this.

Great app but...

It was good until I was told I need to purchase the rest of the bible

12.99. Really ?

12.99 for streaming only.

Poor Reader Quality

Glad to have an audio recording of the Bible, but the readers are terrible! Poor pronunciation and reading ability--pausing in the wrong spots, etc. A real head shaker.

No production value

I am so disappointed. I am looking for an audio version of the Catholic Bible. While this is one, the reader is boring... Stumbles over words... And is basically an awful reader.

Plays fine if you have Internet

If I could play it off-line I would given it 5 stars. I was rather disappointed when I found out that it was only a streaming app and could not be played offline.

Ok

Unfortunately I did not notice the audio was streamed instead of embedded as I purchased this for my commute. I can only use it for 1/3 of my commute due to service in the mountains. The audio is poor quality but understandable

Perfect fit

This audio recording of the Douay-Rheims (authorized version-- and continues to be) permits anyone with a long commute or degraded eyesight to enjoy Our Lord's Holy Word. The audio quality adds to the majesty of this timeless translation. Seek the Word of God, criticize not his messenger nor fret over your needs and comforts. Wonderful experience-- upgrading today after listening to all of the free content.

This is not a Catholic Bible

The voice is annoying and the quality is poor like it was recorded on a cassette tape and then transformed to MP3. I was looking for a current approved catholic bible, not this antiquated ... Want my money back!

Definitely worth it!!!

I absolutely love this app. It's a good old time kind of voice for the reading of Sacred Scripture, almost like my parish priest reading the Sunday gospel. I love the Bible translation as well. It's very relaxing to listen to scripture while I drive, clean my room, or work on a sketch, etc.

Traditional Catholic LOVES it!

Don't listen to the other reviews! This man sounds exactly like I want this translation to sound... Lord of the Rings style! Perfect!

Ms.

Poor reading and the reader should have studied the correct pronunciation of biblical names.

DO NOT BUY!

I wish I could get my money back! I couldn't go past 5 minutes with that annoying narrator reading from an old bible!

Not worth the money!

I couldn't get past chapter 2 of Matthew when it asked to spend another $12.00 for the remaining chapters. Don't bother!

Can't find the Spanish audio

If you could help me find the Spanish audio it be great if not I bought that for nothing it said it comes in all languages Spanish was one of them and I can't find it....
