This gives a significant added value to the whole project” Sauro Fani, vice president of the UICI section of Prato Audiocartoon is an inclusive project with the aim of creating free accessible audio descriptions of cartoon television series. The first phase involves audio describing the first season of MASHA AND THE BEAR consisting of 26 episodes lasting about 7 minutes each. NEED The national panorama of cartoon audio descriptions sees a substantial lack of proposals for blind children. At present, RAI is the only Italian broadcaster that offers audio descriptions of cartoons that can be used free of charge on a site specifically designed for the disabled. All the rest of the cartoons present in the Italian television offer have no self-descriptions. METHODOLOGY The audio descriptions are created by a group of authors with the use of the ADAuthor software. Subsequently the texts are checked for duration and content and then move on to the recording of the voice that will read the audio description and finally the publication of the same on the YouTube channel "Audiocartoon Italia". BENEFICIARIES The inclusive project is not limited to a visually impaired audience but extends to a wider range of users. Children and adults everywhere world who speak and understand the Italian language who will be able to use the audio descriptions on the web for free.
