1999 App

Kludgy lazy written app. Pure garbage. Doesn’t support playback from Tunes music.

Can’t get to set up my device.

Following instructions in the app is an exercise in futility. Not sure what this app even does.

Horrible User Experience

The hardware is awesome … but the app is horrible. It even only will open in portrait mode on tablet!

Won’t Connect

I’ve followed the instructions, troubleshooting tips, and stripped my home network down to the bones. It spins and says “uh oh” on the last step. Maybe it works for the most basic internet setup. Who knows?

Terrible Customer Service

Tried 20x (no exaggeration) to set up a B-Fi. It puts me on an endless instructional loop between the device app and the temporary wi-fi network.
I have tried several times to contact Audio Engine via the app which says they care about feed back - They don’t!

An absolute waste of time.

I downloaded the app to control my speakers, and it won’t even connect to them. I can do more through Bluetooth and my native phone controls.

Don’t waste the energy to try this

Still garbage

Update 4/23. Noticed LinkPlay, the developer for WiiM actually wrote the app for this one too. Fished the B-FI outta the bin of useless garbage I keep. Gave it a try, it worked sorta, but lost connection after a bit. Back in storage it goes.

I’ve owned a B-FI for a couple of years. The B-FI is a great streaming solution which is crippled by this horrible app. Last March I installed a Bluesound Node. IMO BluOS is the gold standard. Yes I’ve installed HEOS on my son’s system. HEOS is still clunky but not as bad as this. Put B-Fi in storage and removed the app. Recently I wanted to put the streamer on another system. Downloaded this ‘new’ version of the app. Still a horrible clunky interface. Not going to waste space on my phone with it Will stick to AirPlay.

Literally wasted opportunity

The B-Fi hardware is great. Fantastic audio quality. The experience is severely marred by this software.

All it does is select the songs or album. The very minimal operation.

Does not give any detail. No song duration, etc. Not even the ability to play gap-less.

iPad version only displays portrait and does not rotate.

Does not work

An absolute garbage. I am taking the bi-fi back. Stay away.

Ripoff

This software, which is required to run their new B-fi network streaming receivers is complete crap. Run away!

App needs to work on landscape orientation

The app is functional enough but we need a landscape version so it can be used on an iPad.

Worst product I have ever bought

App totally unstable and never fixed. Cannot get it to stay connected despite trying with 3 different iOS devices. Waste of money

Can’t handle large collections

The app will only see some of the music on my computer and sorts it poorly. It also loses connection with the pc and tends to lose Wi-Fi completely at times, requiring a reset. Sometimes it must be reset more than once for it to again see the pc.

Easy to use

Set up was straightforward and intuitive. Audioengine products have always been top notch and this app works well with the Audioengine multiroom system.

Happy wife!

This B-Fi companion app is the best! Our house is full of music lovers with some type of speaker system in most rooms. My husband got these and set up 2...one in the kitchen and one in the living room and said we would instantly be able to upgrade our existing systems into a multi-room music “monster” (trying to convince me he was saving us money 🙄). I thought, nice try! But, I have to admit, he was right!! Depending on what I’m doing I can stream all my music wirelessly through my phone, either through my the Control app, my own music library or through other apps using airplay. While I’m doing things around the house I can play the same music in all rooms without have to disconnect and reconnect. Or, if I’m cooking, I can choose to just play in the kitchen. Going back and forth is a breeze! Anyone in the house can use the app and you can actually see what’s playing in what room at any time. Pretty cool! Although, my husband finds it hilarious that he can get on and hi-jack my room from his phone. Lol. Also, now that I work from home, I figured out that you can also stream from your computer.

Anyway, I’m not usually one for tech gadgets, but this is easy to setup and keep everyone happy! Only problem is my teenager now wants one for her room so she doesn’t have to listen to Peter Gabriel. Haha!

Speaker upgrade

My Audioengine B-Fi units allowed me to upgrade my current home music system into a multi-room system without having to reinvest into a whole new system! I was worried about the app to control the system and it’s performance, but it worked flawlessly and it was very simple to use.

Super easy to use

This companion app is incredibly straightforward and user-friendly. I have a lot of parties at my house and being able to choose which rooms/systems are playing music is so much fun. Definitely recommend it!!
