About

Aurora Atlas answers one question: should I go out tonight, where, and when? TONIGHT, AT A GLANCE One aurora score from 0 to 100 for your base, the best three-hour window, and a plain-words verdict. The score combines clear sky, darkness, the moon and live geomagnetic activity. CLOUDS, MODELLED PROPERLY The forecast looks at cloud layers hour by hour, because high thin cloud and low thick cloud are not the same night. You see when the sky opens, not just a percentage. SPOTS AND DESTINATIONS Explore researched viewing spots across Norway (including Svalbard), Sweden, Finland and Iceland, with drive times and local access information. Choose your base and driving range to find spots within reach. Outside these destinations, get a forecast for the place you choose. MAP AND LIVE A map of every aurora area, scored for tonight, with the aurora oval drawn over it. Live sky cameras where they exist. TRIP MODE Planning a trip? Enter your dates and see each night's darkness, moon and typical sky. AI ANALYSIS ON REQUEST Ask for a short written analysis of the outlook. It is written from public forecast data, never from anything about you. Choose your base manually or use optional on-device location. Available in English, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, German, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese. Weather from MET Norway, geomagnetic data from NOAA.
