What's New in AusBUG
2.8.4
August 3, 2026
A big AusBUG update with improvements across events, route planning, navigation and safety: • Discover more rides with refreshed Audax events, official cycling events, recurring group rides, clubs and BUG groups. • New crash-risk mapping across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT, including known crash corridors and intersection hotspots. • Planned routes now warn you when they pass through crash-risk areas, closures, detours, road hazards or special events. • Closed and damaged trail sections are shown with fine red hashes instead of disappearing from the route. • Expanded emergency information across Australia, including official state warnings and satellite fire detections in areas without equivalent coverage. • Lock your planned route while exploring the map, minimise the planner and search for your next stop. • Navigation now starts with a wider view and respects your chosen zoom level. • Continuous high-accuracy GPS improves navigation, recorded distances and GPX tracks. Battery Saver remains available when needed. • Faster offline-map preparation, improved dark mode, cleaner maps and a restored location marker. • Sharrows are now displayed separately from road shoulders. • Fixed planner freezes when changing route profiles, plus numerous performance and reliability improvements.
