Not Microsoft Authenticator
This app is extremely deceptive. It appears prominently when searching for Microsoft Authenticator and gives the impression that it is the official Microsoft app. After downloading it, I was immediately charged for a subscription.
The actual Microsoft Authenticator app is free, but this app seems designed to take advantage of people who are simply trying to secure their accounts. Users shouldn’t have to worry about accidentally signing up for a paid service when searching for a free, widely used authentication app.
I strongly recommend avoiding this app and making sure you’re downloading the official Microsoft Authenticator published by Microsoft Corporation. Apple should take a closer look at apps that create this kind of confusion.
