No Instructions

I wanted this app to work, but it did not give any instructions on where to get the information to fill in the blanks, to make the app work. I’m not tech challenged, but this app frustrated me immensely, because I couldn’t get anywhere with it.

FAQ

What does this app do?

This application acts as a multi-factor authentication code generator. It creates time-based and counter-based one-time passwords (OTPs) that you can use to add an extra layer of security when signing into various online services, such as Google and other platforms that support 2-Step Verification.

How does the app store my security keys?

Your sensitive 2FA keys are stored securely using iOS's built-in encrypted keychain. This ensures that your keys are protected and only accessible by the app on your device. The app does not send or receive any data from the internet, keeping your keys offline.

Is this app free to use?

Yes, this application is completely free to use. It does not have any in-app purchases or advertisements, providing a secure and uninterrupted experience for generating your authentication codes.

What happens if I lose my phone?

The app does not have its own backup feature. However, your 2FA keys are stored in your iPhone's secure keychain. If you restore your device from an iTunes or iCloud backup, your keychain will be restored as part of that process, bringing the app and its keys back. It is highly recommended to also back up your 2FA secret keys separately in a different password manager.

What types of one-time passwords does it support?

The app supports both time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) and counter-based one-time passwords (HOTP). These are standard methods for generating secure codes as described in RFC 4226 and RFC 6238, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of services.
