About

Auto Anatomy is like a human-anatomy app, for vehicles. Spin a 3D car, truck or motorcycle, tap any part to learn what it is, what it does and what goes wrong, then peel the vehicle apart layer by layer, all the way down to the frame. TWELVE VEHICLES, EVERY PART EXPLAINED • A sedan, pickup truck, electric SUV, supercar, roadster, hybrid minivan, box truck and motorcycle • New: an aero EV sedan, an electric pickup, a plug-in hybrid crossover and an electric hypercar, with notes on where familiar parts went on modern, aerodynamic designs: no grille, light bars, flush handles, camera mirrors, sensors behind the badge • 228 parts with plain-English write-ups: how each one works, where it is, signs of trouble and how to look after it TAKE IT APART • Explode the vehicle and watch every part slide away from its neighbors • X-ray the body, show only the frame, or color every system • Hide or fade any of 13 systems: engine, drivetrain, brakes, suspension, cooling, high voltage and more • Name tags on the parts you can see, and a Run mode that turns the wheels and moves the pistons SEE HOW IT WORKS • Animations where parts glow and dots flow along the real pipes and cables: the four-stroke engine, brakes from pedal to pads, the coolant loop, and an EV's battery to the wheels and back • Seven ways to build a vehicle's skeleton, from ladder frames and unibodies to carbon tubs, EV skateboards and giant one-piece castings • 35 guided lessons that set up the 3D view for you FIX AND CHECK • A decoder for 43 dashboard warning lights: what each one means, how urgent it is and what to do • 13 step-by-step checks, such as engine oil, tire pressure, coolant, brake fluid and lights, stepped through in 3D • A troubleshooter that starts from what you notice (a noise, a leak, a warning light) and points to the parts worth reading about QUIZ YOURSELF • Find the part in 3D, name that part, and sort parts into their systems BUILT FOR EVERY SCREEN • iPhone, iPad and Mac, with one download • iPhone Duo: the cover screen, and unfolded the vehicle on one page with its details on the other • View in AR puts the vehicle on your table or floor (iPhone and iPad) • Fully usable with VoiceOver: every part on screen can be explored and selected Free, with no ads, no accounts and no tracking. Auto Anatomy is for learning. Its vehicles are generic designs, not any particular make or model. Always follow your owner's manual and a qualified mechanic for repairs.
