Auto Greatness.

I have been a keen customer of auto express for at least forty years. The articles continue to impress the motoring public in many ways. I hope and pray the the present form of articles continue for many more years. A big Thankyou to all of you responsible an excellent publication.

Lots of picture’s eye candy. Early previews. Short on Details in many places. Useful for good browsing

Auto Express

The best Weekly Car Magazine Digital App that Is very easy to use

Good, now rubbish

This app is not compatible with either iPadOS 17 or iOS 17. Until its upgraded this is one to avoid. As someone with a digital subscription it is totally useless.

App doesn’t work

I’ve just subscribed and the app doesn’t open on my iPad running iOS 17.

iOS Update 17

AutoExpress app doesn’t seem to work following update to iOS 17

LATE

It’s now Friday and no magazine time to ditch the post office and use Amazon.

Problem verifying purchases

All of a sudden, after years of using the app it no longer works. Something has gone wrong between the app and the App Store.
Come on AutoExpress, get your app sorted out. After all, purchases are your revenue stream, not that of your customers.
I have an almost new iPad at the latest IOS level so the problem is between you and Apple…….

This steals your money

I've paid my subscription, the ap says I'm paid up - yet I can't get weekly issues without paying again. Couple this theft with the dreadful navigation and it's a total waste of time and money. Disgusting. Still no better months after my review

Autoexpress

It’s now 4 days since I’ve been able to access the magazine via the app. I’ve paid a years subscription upfront which ends in October’22. I have both phoned & emailed Autoexpress about this & nothing has been done so far. Email not even answered yet!
Therefore I’m currently very disappointed & still awaiting a resolution or even a response to my report of problems.

Works great

Easy to use, good graphics etc. Haven't found anything wrong so far, so seems like a great and easy app to use

Can’t purchase via iTunes

I have tried to subscribe via iTunes but it looks like you have to call them to create your account and subscribe. Not something I want to do as had previously a subscription and it takes too long to cancel directly with them.

Sort this out.

This is the only way to read this magazine not only is it cheaper to buy now even cheaper but is quicker to use a reference point.Thank You.

Worst of both worlds

This app allows you to read the magazine exactly as it was formatted for print. That does mean a lot of scrolling around and the print version you pay for, is not nearly as easy to read as the website version, which is free (with adverts).

Very poor app and disappointing magazine!

Very disappointed. I stopped my paper subscription because I was fed up of late issues or issues never appearing at all. This app is even worse: every issue is uploaded late which I have challenged with Auto Express. Apparently the digital editions are purposely uploaded on a Thursday (as opposed to Wednesday when the paper publication is released) to 'avoid the week's content being available before the paper edition is out'???! No other magazine does this: digital and paper are launched on the same day. There have been several occasions where digital editions have been very late (AE's record is 3-weeks with three issues being unavailable) with absolutely no explanation or apology. As a digital subscriber you are very much treated second rate. I even emailed Steve Fowler, the editor, to express my disgust; the email wasn't even acknowledged by him!

The magazine itself is getting poorer as time goes on. There is far too much emphasis in the main road tests on SUVs; one particular SUV they tested two weeks on the trot! There's lots of exciting cars out there that frequently get overlooked or sexier models within a range that never get the full, main feature road test. Cars that enthusiasts are really interested in (when they do rarely road test them) are often relegated to the 'can't really be bothered' head-to-head test which regularly omits full performance figures. For example, one week the main test was run-of-the-mill SUVs (yet again!) with full performance stats; the head-to-head test was the Mercedes C63S vs Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio without full performance figures! If they must be so lazy, at least give us the full performance stats for the decent stuff and not the boring dross!!

I wouldn't bother subscribing to this magazine: it's really poor and one dimensional (over coverage/testing of SUVs or other grey cars) in comparison to European car mags (such as Auto Bild, Auto Motor & Sport et al) that are available through the absolutely excellent Readly app. Certainly do not bother subscribing to Autocar through their app either; the magazine is better but performance of the app is even worse than this one!

It’s ok but magazine is better

Reading the magazine on the app is ok but I don’t like the fact that when pictures and text spread across 2 pages you can’t move/slide the image across while zoomed in. Other online magazines have each article on one continuous page that you just scroll down to read. This is better, although still not as good as an actual magazine where you can glance across 2 pages at once and choose what you want to read/view first.

The app is a great way to view auto express

The app is great

Good but not great

Not ideal on an iPhone. It doesn’t fill the screen hence a lot of zooming is needed. It changed some months ago so perhaps the developer can revert to the original format.
The weekly release is rather sporadic, no fixed day of the week for the new issue, sometimes having to wait 10days.

Ok ish

The pagination of this App is poor, page errors on zoom are common, and when you try to report they are completely hopeless.

Auto express app.

Very good no complaints especially as they have reduced the costs of buying magazine used to use Readr app but found the print to small and a few other issues.
