Chromecast Pairing Has Been Broken for Over Six Months
However, I believe the process should be improved. Once the user enters the pairing code, the app should automatically approve the request and complete the pairing process, rather than requiring two extra steps.
Making this process automatic would improve the user experience and make pairing with Google Chromecast much faster, simpler, and more intuitive.
The Chromecast pairing feature is extremely frustrating and simply does not work properly on my iPhone.
The app instructs me to open the mobile app, go to Tools, select “Pair New Device,” and then enter a pairing code. However, no matter how many times I enter the code, the pairing process fails. I end up stuck in an endless loop, repeating the same steps without ever successfully connecting my device.
I have been requesting a fix for this issue for over six months, and it is unacceptable that the problem remains unresolved.
Please implement a QR code scanning option. Instead of forcing users to manually enter pairing codes, the app should allow users to scan a QR code displayed on their TV directly with their iPhone’s camera. This would make the pairing process much faster, easier, and more reliable.
Please take this issue seriously and fix it as soon as possible. Users should not have to struggle with a basic feature that has been broken for months.
