Avaz is awesome however :(

On Avaz, I noticed few things! Rich vocab, lots of features.. or so I thought. The frozen row feature and the vocab presets are all language blocked to US english only. As an Australian AAC user, this really sucks! Why can’t I access frozen row? It’s the most fundamental feature I NEED for AAC along with the vocab presets!? Yes it may be hard to do Australian vocab too BUT I struggle with using the layouts and having to start FROM scratch for big boards. It’s stressful, time consuming and as much as I want to LOVE Avaz, I cannot. Also YouTube intergration is only 5 minutes MAX. This really sucks because most of my stuff is for school, it goes for like 20 minutes more. Besides this, Avaz has good colour coding system and easy customisation but not to where I feel it needs to be.

Do not purchase subscription, DOES NOT WORK!

They do not warn you that you cannot buy this on your account as the parent, and expect it to work on your kids tablets. You cannot even sign out without deleting an account. So if you buy a lifetime subscription, even if you are logged in with the exact same e-mail, it will not work. Even if you try restoring purchase and using their website for advice. If you reach out to them for support by e-mail, they will not answer. You can expect decent response time for support from other companies, just not this one. It is a simple program they made using software from the 90s and expect to pray on parents by charging $400! Frustrating to pay so much, hoping it would family share (it doesn’t), or sharing a log in would work (it doesn’t), and just left feeling ripped off!

It shouldn’t be this hard.

I used to own an account on this on this device specifically with a different email address. When I tried to make a new account on a different device with a different email I just made, it said that I ‘already had an account’ which I didn’t! So then I tried again to make a new account, but it said I already had an account under that email despite it never being used?? It shouldn’t be this hard to make an account or sign in. Please fix this!

idk if its just me but its free for me

well for me its free so i like it but ik it is expensive for others?? so be wary or that

The best AAC app

I’m a Pedaitric Speech Language therapist, using Avaz has made AAC so much more accessible to the non verbal children. Customising it to suit the child’s need is also very easy. The icons are clear and easy to understand. Would 100% recommend it

Happy parent

My son is still in the learning phase. The app itself seems user friendly and easy to use. I will update on his progress with the app in a few months.

The support has been awesome, they helped with some of the initial subscription issues like changing country, restoring purchase on fire tablet etc swiftly as soon as we got in touch. Mr. Debojit was also very patient in answering any queries we had & welcoming to connect more if we needed support in future. 100% recommend.

It’s great but glitchy

I’ve had abs since October. I really love it. I do wish it was cheaper for a lifetime and one of the issues is it’s telling me it’s 299.99 for the lifetime, but it’s telling my friend it’s only 199.99 and it’s been glitching and freezing but I do really love the app. If you could fix these issues, I really want to buy the lifetime.

Too expensive.

As a person who needs it to communicate it is good and easy to navigate. However, it’s too expensive for me or my family to even afford. What is the out right purpose of this if I is difficult for individuals to afford?
Maybe bring your prices down and I may consider checking it out again. There’s many people out in need but a reliable AAC device, but we can’t really rely upon it if it costs that much.
CRAZY!!!

Very nasty glitch

Hi, I like your game. It’s really fun and I enjoy creating stories on it. But there is this one glitch, that’s really annoying; I try to find a picture but it freezes the screen! Then, I try to click it it freezes again! It was perfectly fine before you updated it. So this glitch needs to be fixed.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your kind words about Avaz, our AAC app. While it’s not a game, it’s designed to make communication more accessible for those who need an AAC solution. We’re pleased to inform you that the internet pictures are now available again. To access them, all you need to do is update the app from the app store. Once again, thank you for your support. We appreciate it! 😊

Needs to be free

I love this app because you get to customize it and it’s great. The problem is it’s only for free for 14 days, which is not helpful in case you are a person like me who cannot afford to buy a voice

internet does not connect with app

i have been trying to do my subscription and always shows error internet not connected . The customer care response also slow .

Response from developer

We are sorry to note this. Please call +1 (650) 300-4904 or write to support@avazapp.com. We will look into this.

50-50

I have had this app for four years I recently uninstalled it, it used to be awesome cuz it WAS FREE you had everything possible than the changed it to were you have to pay :( it’s a good app overall if you have money and willing to give it a try I do recommend if you can I deleted that app because I can’t afford to pay the subscription and the free version of the app doesn’t have the needs that you need like talking, and pictures ect overall i recommend if you can afford it if not give the free a try and if not than get something else for me I’m a big picture person so I need them but if you can just see the words and don’t need pictures than you should be fine (if you don’t care on having a verbal voice lol)

After that, we request users to buy the app so we can continue with better features, provide reliable support and keep improving the app with updates. If you need any help, please write to us at support@avazapp.com. Thank you again!

I like it but

I love this app it is the best aac app I have used but I can not pay for the subscription after my free trial runs out. It also doesn’t say anything about a free trial on the App Store or when you download the app.

Response from developer

We're so sorry that you weren't aware of it. Avaz is free for 14 days and there's a subscription post that. We will certainly do our best to communicate this message in a better way. Thank you for the feedback.

Trial?

I didn’t not know it was a trial version. Wish I knew, yet it was effective in me deciding I might go through with a plan. Prices look great compared to many other apps. I just haven’t purchased one yet. Still usable, but my child prefers his custom pictures (still works after trial) and the talking. Talking was with the trial unfortunately.

Love this app overall!

Response from developer

Thank you for your wonderful feedback! Avaz comes with a 14-day free trial so families can explore all features, including the speech output. After the trial, upgrading to a plan unlocks the full features. Your kind words about our pricing is so very nice to read. Have you already considered a plan? If you have any questions or need help choosing the right plan, if not already, please write to us at support@avazapp.com - we’d be happy to help.

IS NOT FREE !!!

if you’re poor (like MOST DISABLED PEOPLE ARE) do NOT waste your time w this app. after the free trial ends they will take away the main function & purpose of the app (the speaking ability) and ask for $300. IT IS NOT A GLITCH ! if your audio stopped working it’s because your free trial is up. it takes so long to customize an AAC board just for the entire point of having it to be thrown out the window. these people do not care about accessibility or your needs they care about profiting off of (poor) disabled people. i recommend C board instead. they take away some functions after free trial but the purpose of the app still works great.

We want Avaz to be as accessible as possible, which is why we also offer discounted pricing twice a year in April and October. Your feedback matters, and we appreciate you sharing it with us. We're available on support@avazapp.com for any assistance.

Perfect

I work as a job coach for adults and many have verbal limitations. I was so happy to find this, I’ve only had it an hour but it’s free now. Great job providing accessibility to all!

Response from developer

Thank you so much! Avaz has a monthly, yearly and lifetime subscriptions available. Please reach out to support@avazapp.com for any assistance.

I would have given this four stars, except for one major flaw.

Nowhere in the description does it say that the app isn’t free or has a trial period. But I kept getting told every time I opened the app, that my access to the app would expire. Idk what to do, because the app is amazing but I can’t afford to pay for it if it actually does need a payment or subscription. Can somebody tell me how to get a subscription even though I can’t afford it? I love the app, and would love to keep using it if I could afford it.

Response from developer

Thank you for your support! We’re glad you love the app. While a subscription is required after the trial, we have a special discount coming in April that might help! Stay tuned, and feel free to reach out to support@avazapp.com for more details.

Broken after update

I guess there was an update. Now the app crashes every few minutes. Making it unusable.

Response from developer

Hello, we are very sorry to note this. Can you please write to us at support@avazapp.com with details? Also, please ensure you have updated the app. Thank you!

Need to add more features

Amazing App…it would be great if you add options like adding videos and Images made by users…that would add more reinforcement in Child and will be very helpful to simplify any particular task for speech therapist

Response from developer

Thank you for the nice ask! We already have the YouTube videos option in Avaz that you may explore and let us know of your feedback. Thanks again!
