What's New in AvWx

5.0

July 7, 2026

Digital ATIS (D‑ATIS) • A new D‑ATIS pill appears on any airport that broadcasts it — tap it for the raw ATIS plus a full decode: wind, visibility, clouds/ceilings, temp/dew, altimeter, approaches and landing/departing runways in use, and NOTAMs. • At‑a‑glance hazard flags right on the tile: Wind Shear Advisories, PRM approaches, and CAT II/III. Radar Proximity • New pills show the nearest and strongest precipitation near each airport with distance and direction. • Tap for a radar popup with range rings and a per‑intensity breakdown. Next Hour Precipitation • Redesigned minute‑by‑minute rain outlook with current and peak intensity and a rising/steady/falling trend. • "Current precip" now reads consistently across the summary bar, next‑hour pill, and hourly chart. FAA Traffic Management • Ground Stops, Ground Delay Programs, departure/arrival delays, and airport closures shown on the tile with live countdowns. • "Affected by" pills when one of your airports sits inside another field's program. TAF & Runways • Clearer TAF timeline: conditional periods labeled TEMPO/PROB30/PROB40, cleaner handling of overlapping periods, and per‑period favored runways with head/crosswind components. Charts • Refined hourly, daily, monthly, and annual precipitation and sunlight charts, with redesigned, faster‑opening chart popups. Maps • Radar, airspace, FAA advisory scope maps, and NWS alert regions, plus quick access to your saved locations.
