Used to love the old app

Really want to love this one, but it has a lot of bloated additional features and flashy UI while core functionality is now glitchy and harder to use than the original.

Timers & notifications continue appearing on my phone and watch well after I’ve ended a routine. I get a bunch of notifications telling me about a routine that’s scheduled tomorrow, but then none at the time I’m actually doing the routine! Can only add routines to the calendar by setting a schedule, rather than just adding a routine to the day you want to do it.

Was excited to see there was an Apple watch app, but it doesn’t work at all - no notifications during routines, doesn’t sync with phone app, timer randomly stops all the time. Would be more useful if it even just showed live activities from the phone app, but it doesn’t do that.

Love some of the tweaks and improvements to core functionality of routine management, like reordering mid-routine, switching between end time and task duration, and the functionality of adding minutes or skipping back and forwards. Wish the new version had just focused on these kinds of improvements.

Would love the option to turn off or not show the habits, streaks or calendar tabs. This app’s point of difference to me was that it was the best one for preplanning then running through a routine with timers and reminders. By trying to do everything else it invites comparison and sadly does all of those other things worse than other apps.

I simply want to see my list of routines, pick the one I want to do (at the time I want to do it), and then work through the routine. I want a notification to sound when each activity transitions to the next, and to be able to choose a setting so that the alarm plays even if another app is open or the screen is locked or my wrist is down or the phone is on silent.

Free trial doesn’t seem to work so I can’t try anything beyond one or two routines on this version. But even so I’m not sure what more there is to see that might convince me. I’m really trying to give this version a fair go kbut I think I have to give up. I would so happily pay for the original app if it was being maintained but it now just glitches out all the time.

Subscription doesn’t work, buggy, maybe abandoned

Looks like it would be an awesome app but I got the subscription and it doesn’t work. Seems to be a bug. Now I’m losing out on the free trial.

Also it’s showing events for calendars that it shouldn’t.

It having a watch app was one of the reasons I got Awakee but it doesn’t work which would be a requirement for me to replace my current app. It opens up but then it says there are no habits or routines when there are.

I reached out to the developer through two different emails about the subscription issue and there’s been no response.

EDIT: The developer did finally respond but communication is still terribly slow and while it looks like maybe the subscription problem may be fixed now, they have yet to fully resolve my issue.

Untrustworthy

I paid for the premium version of this app for a year. Just a few months later they have blocked premium benefits and are trying to charge me again. Sad, I really like the app. I reached out through the app, never heard back.

It’s come a long way

The developer has made huge strides in making this app reliable. I use it every morning for my 3-hour a.m. routine. It used to crash at least once every morning. It no longer does—I can’t remember the last time it crashed.
It’s a great app for setting and keeping mornings routines.
My one complaint is that during the routine, when I get a notification pop up on my phone, the timer stops if I interact with the notification at all (for example, marking a reminders task as complete). I can easily resume the timer countdown by clicking on pause/play twice. But sometimes I don’t notice the timer has stopped.
That’s the only remaining issue I have with this app. It’s honestly one of the most useful apps on my phone. Highly recommend.
