Watch Duty is Better
Why is California trying to recreate watch duty instead of partnering with them? Seems wasteful to recreate an app that does not get updated as fast and with not as many features.

An incredibly useful app for staying informed and prepared during emergencies. AwareCA provide important and timely information, all in one place. Finding information is usually so difficult in searching everywhere but having access to updates that help keep my family and friends safe and informed, definitely recommend this app

Unusable, slow, and lacks good information
This thing is spotty at best. Another attempt by the government to do something too late and half-baked. I’ll stick with Watch Duty
Underwhelming
Boring interface. Not sure why anyone would use this when Watch Duty has so much more to offer. Please tell me my tax dollar was not involved in the making of this.

Useful information
Really useful app for staying informed about nearby wildfires and timely warning. I especially like the weather information and timely warnings. Definitely worth having.
Great app
Really useful app for keeping up with what’s happening in California. My sister works for CalFIRE so this is nice to know I can trust them, and I like being able to follow the areas that matter to me.
Very helpful and easy to use
Finding reliable information during fires and other emergencies usually means digging through scattered social media posts or news sites. AwareCA puts everything in one place, with information coming directly from the agencies and first responders handling the incident.
The map is easy to understand, and having incident updates and evacuation zones together makes it much easier to follow what is happening. I also really appreciate that the app is completely free, with no paywalls or premium subscription required. Definitely recommend it for Californians!

Great source of information
Came across this app and am thrilled at the data, that its free and especially that the data comes right from the public safety entity
Looks good on paper.
I was actually looking forward to trying this, but it feels less like a new wildfire app and more like a group project where half the team gave up and nobody checked that it actually worked - or whether the wildfire information was actually updated. It’s not user friendly, requires a sign up just to access information, and then makes that information hard to find and not even reliably up to date. All the features in the world don’t help if the basics don’t work.
