It is ten past three. You have fed her, you think, about an hour ago. Maybe two. The other one is asleep and you do not want to wake him to ask. Baby Arc is for that. Nothing asks you to pick a category, fill a form, or remember what you did before you can write down what you just did. It starts earlier than most apps do. Before the birth it times contractions — length, gap, and the 5-1-1 and 3-1-1 patterns marked as they appear — and keeps counting on your lock screen so the phone can stay where it is. The same record carries on afterwards. You do not start again on the hardest night of your life. Both of you can keep it. Pair the two phones once, with six digits you read aloud to each other, and entries move straight between them over your own network. There is no account. There is no server. When he logs a bottle at 4am, it is simply there in the morning. That also means we cannot read any of it. Not as a promise — there is nowhere for it to arrive. Weight and length are drawn over time and compared with one baby: yours. No percentiles, no shaded band, no other children on the chart. If you want to know whether something is normal, Journey will tell you what tends to happen around this week and when it is worth asking someone — plainly, and honestly about what nobody can promise.
