Very disappointing experience
I had a really disappointing experience using this app. I felt that the parent did not give me a fair chance and accused me of things without properly hearing my side of the situation. At the time, I was in the hospital, and instead of understanding my circumstances, I felt pressured and was told they would choose someone else.
I reported the situation to the app because I felt uncomfortable and taken advantage of, especially as I am only 17. Unfortunately, I felt that the app did not properly understand where I was coming from and that the parent’s side was favoured over mine. I strongly disagreed with how the situation was handled and felt that my concerns were not taken seriously.
The experience has also made me uncomfortable about sharing personal information on the platform. There have been other frustrating experiences too, such as parents leaving you on read or not responding at all.
Overall, I personally did not feel supported or protected as a young babysitter using this app. I think the platform needs to do much more to protect young users, properly investigate disputes and make sure both sides are treated fairly before making decisions. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this app to other young babysitters.
