A great teacher
I have used three other “tutor” apps over the last few months. This is by far the best one. There is a learning curve that one has to master in order to use all available controls properly. My game is improving. You make a decision and then erase it and let the computer show you the best, correct one. The you can decide whether to use the one you made or the one the computer suggests. This apps will become popular if people try it.

Doesn't work
Displays all pips on bar as initial position. Impossible to play.
Poorly programmed
Backgammon Guru is very poorly programmed. It cheats! Several times I had 2 checkers on the bar, and it was at the very beginning of the game, and I could have put both pieces in play, but as soon as I took the first checker off the bar, black started their move. Also, the random dice generator gives black doubles after a few rolls and they are always double 4s, 5s or 6s. I got a few doubles but usually my doubles were almost always 1s or occasionally 3s.

Scrambled board on iPhone 12 with iOS 14
Not worth playing
I downloaded anotherBackgammon game and it became quickly boring because I just won every game one after another. But I downloaded this game, I’ve been playing it On beginner modeI’ve played six games and lost six games. I have been playing for a while, Statistically I should have won at least one of these games. Not worth playing. I do not recommend.

Board doesn’t display properly
I like the idea of the stats analysis but the board is just not working at all
Damages your game
The problem with apps like this which by its own admission has 3 lucky throws to my 0 and 0 unlucky throws to my 2 is that it turns you into an ultra risk averse player. You are a lot better off sticking to a more basic app where the throws are genuinely random.

Also forced me to play upside down. If you wanna switch the board to move clockwise you have to pay.

Sounds horrible... reminds me of the sound of Lara Croft falling to her death! Sound can be on or off only, ie there’s no way to keep it on but turn it down.
Will tell you if rolls are great/good/ok/bad/terrible, but not why. You can reset rolls after the game ends so you can see the suggested improvement, but I find looking at a single roll in isolation is no help to me.
Wish I hadn’t paid the money.
Will go back to reading Backgammon strategies online.

Loaded game
I’m a beginner and have found the game constantly cheats by throwing the exact numbers to remove your blot or numerous doubles while you may get none at all - no point playing
Not for beginners
The app is not good for helping beginners to learn. The analysis is incomprehensible and it's very difficult to figure out how to improve your play.
Buggy
Has trouble connecting to the server. When this happens the app gets confused and won't auto move the black pieces. Kind of spoils the challenge when you have to move your competitor's pieces. Such a shame, because it's so close to being a great app
RIGGED!
I just this got game after checking out many other backgammon apps, and reading many reviews. I played several games in a row, just to watch that again and again the computer was able to roll consistent combinations its to cover it's a marker. The few times that I was able to find one of its that I could hit, The computer miraculously got down immediately and covered it's marker again. I am an OK player, and was looking forward to building my skills. Instead, I just sat there and watched as the computer won. This game has the option to push auto move instead of choosing for yourself where you place your markers. So I checked it out to see if it would give me any advantage. It just made the game go quicker so the computer would win. NO FUN TO BE HAD HERE!!

I've tried few other apps and this is the best. It's great fun and an excellent challenge. You can play others online and at can be fun.Overall, this an excellent version and I'm sure you'll agree!

I can play this game every day. In game has structor amazing and best game type play. Play game and i get more fun
Disgusting
I've played it for 10 times to be sure that you will never be able to win because of dices, when the black side seems to lose it becomes 5-5, 6-6 for more than 3 or 4 times and you are having little dices like 1-2, 2-3 if your stone is broken and if there are even 4 space to place it, your dices never comes as what you want, once a time I waited for 6 round to get in to any of 3 space. So this app is f.cking useless they are cheating on dices so much

Allows illegal moves
The game allows illegal moves. It crashes constantly when changing settings. The expert level isn't smarter it just gets more doubles so it trains you to play too conservatively. Bee poky.

Backgammon is one of my favourite game and this one is one the best back gammon game in app store.
