Rules no uniformly applied

Game is good to practice. However, the Crawford rule is only applied to black (the player) and the App sees its dice before doubling while black can not.
‘Expert’ level does not play at that level, but uses highly improbable dice to advance.

AI is awfully “lucky”

I don’t trust the integrity of the dice rolls in this game any more than the other reviewers here, it seems quite likely that part of making its “expert” AI (which I would say is decent, but not great - it doesn’t seem to take the larger game context into account very well) competitive is to give it a helping hand with the dice when it is falling behind.

I only played 6 games (of which I won 4, so I don’t think this is sour grapes), so perhaps I was just actually unlucky, but the computer significantly out-pipped me in every game and was also fantastically lucky with me missing opportunities to hit solo pieces upon entering from the bar (In one game, I went 0 for 5 on hitting pieces the computer left open in its end zone when I had a piece on the bar while I was way ahead, “coincidentally” allowing the computer to come back from way behind).

Strong player

I’ve played all the BG apps and this one has the strongest AI I can play offline. Thank you! Dice rolls are completely fair and neutral, most people just aren’t aware of how much better this bot plays than the other apps.

The game is 1000% rigged

This game is absolutely rigged. I have played this game for over a year and it is statistically impossible to get the rolls that the AI gets. The question is, why???? Why rig a game against the player, there is no money involved. Just takes the fun out of it and makes it frustrating.

Dice rolls not random

I have played a lot of games. Hard mode just gives player worse die rolls and the computer better dice rolls. Dice rolls are not randomly distributed. But at least it doesn’t have ads.

It’s a start

Nice graphics. Game sometimes will not allow me to make legal moves and second guesses causing way too many undos. Statistically, computer is way too lucky on doubles rolls. When I feel the urge to get belligerent, I’ll play a couple of games here and go out looking for something to destroy. :(

Garbage

Played ten 3 point matches it out doubled me 63 to 26. I won one game out of maybe 25 games. I never had a game where I outdoubled the app. Why do they write garbage apps like this??

PvP broken

2nd player can roll, but cannot move pips.

Computer Advantage

I enjoy the Ad free component of this game, but I have to agree with another reviewer that the computer dice rolls are much better than rolls for me. If I leave an open man, the computer seems to roll one number that can hit me 75% of the time while I only seem to be able to do that to the computer maybe 25%. Playing the back game is usually advantageous but when the computer is bearing off, seldom are any men open. The dice rolls seem to allow men to be covered and if open, no dice roll will hit it.

Good free app

The dice rolls don’t seem rigged to me, the AI default setting is just hard to beat. Turn it down a notch and it’s a good opponent. Great to have a backgammon app that’s not stuffed with video ads. Only downside is that it doesn’t have a quick auto bear-off option.

No ads, no pay only play

The best free App for backgammon.

RNG Favors AI

This game does not have a fair RNG. It heavily favors the AI. The algorithm is not fair between player and AI. Do not play if you want a fair game.

AI

This would be great if the AI was set up to win a high percentage of the time. It always rolls the die in favour of the AI and not the human. Such a shame. Also Player v player just doesn’t allow second player to move.

Bestes wirklich umsonst Backgammon

The dice cheating in this one is pretty bad. Not the worst that I’ve seen, but it’s up there.

By far the AI for backgammon

Congratulations for the fantastic computer player

No challenge

This app wins almost every time. I have played backgammon all my life. It’s no fun playing against computer. Needs a big fix to make this challenging, fair and fun. Deleting app.

Utter Cheat

Talk about a skewed algorithm.
When you program a game to throw cheat dice in order to win, you're a cheat. Why can't games of chance be just that????

Dice truly random?

The tutorial function and pip count are great ideas. The issue is whether the randomizer is working all the time for dice rolls. My test: I tested by placing the level at expert and always playing the tutor-suggested best move —so that it is in effect the computer is playing itself in expert mode. Still, the computer won the majority of times (it should approximate 50%).

Update: I keep coming back to this app despite the concern about the randomizer code -because of the tutor feature, pip count, and the indicator of the player is up or down indicator. Thanks for to the author for the reply to my initial review. One thought: Is it possible to generate the string of roles before play, and then to make that screen viewable at any time? That might address the concerns raised in these reviews and/ or ID the source of the problem in the randomizer? Again thanks for the game.
