Rolls not random

This is the same backgammon game created by Adikus, where the roles are not random on the hard level. I used to love their Backgammon game, but will not play it anymore. Time to find a new Backgammon app.

Challenging but fair

Some games I’ve downloaded the higher challanges win by multiple doubles and generally higher roles. This game uses strategy….good for learning strategy I had never thought of and able to apply it to my own game.

Decent enough but…

Double dice throws when most needed and computer going first 90% of the time make this pretty decent game grow tiring very quickly. Already looking at alternatives as this favours the computer nearly every time.

Worst

I’ve never had a worse experience playing backgammon than through this app.

Upgrade was huge.

Have played this for 2 plus years. Hooked…If you like statistics and risk/benefit ratios it is kind of like life. The upgrade was better than I thought it could be. It is like a good player now. And it has made me honest(you could surrender before a big loss before the upgrade). It has made me a better player.

Dice Rolls Are Not Random

The game plays well except for the fact that the dice rolls are not random. During the match when there is only one possible dice roll for your opponent to get in order to advance against you 75% of the time or more they will roll that combination. If you're getting Apple Arcade only to play this game I suggest not doing it.

Cheating

Incredibly cheetful

Best of these

I find this to be the best version of backgammon and I’ve tried several. Thank you!

Was good - till last update.

I hate to use the word “rigged” because of Trump… but this game is seriously rigged. Dont waste your time with it.

My go to game

A mixture of luck, skill, and strategy.

KVC

The algorithm is strange to me, but I like the game!

Awful app

The dice are not random, insanely frustrating. I just want to play Backgammon with reliable RNG for a fair game. This is not it. Trash

Solo mode cheats

The dice rolls are rigged against the human player. It hardly ever takes more than one roll for the computer to get off the bar, yet the human is often stuck for 2-3 turns. It's "luck" is too good for me to enjoy this. I'm leaving.

I'd tolerate ads for fair dice rolls.

AI Enhancement?

This was my favorite game prior to moving into the arcade. And it remained my favorite until some months ago.

I rarely roll doubles anymore. But playing solo, the game sure rolls a lot of them, and often multiple doubles in a row. And, oh so conveniently, so often when I have just two checkers left and the game has three or four.

It doesn’t feel random or fair anymore. So, yeah, a bad review.

Works

Just what I wanted

Just play!

Simple rules, no commercials, no spending money to play. Best place to learn the basics and strategy.

Good Game

Nothing to add really

Was good - till last update.

Each update, its random generator appears more and more suspect. Game began freezing (when I was winning) last October. I reached out to the developer and he said “an update patch is coming out in a day or so”. It did… But ever since there is absolutely no “random” code in these dice rolls anymore. Extremely disappointed cuz used to be the best game out there. Count on getting exactly the roll when you’re on the “bar” that opponent has a prime on. Also count on getting “1’s & 2’s” when it’s time to bare-off. Truly… count on it.
Update: Right after mentioning about getting exact roll the opponent has a prime on—it happened twice. Come on, man. At least don’t be so obvious that it’s rigged.

House Favored Rolls

I like this game. The layout, color options, and play. However, the rolls always favor the house.
Playing at intermediate level, a game I should have won, the house rolls 5 sets of doubles in a row then winning a game it clearly should have lost.
But I deal with it because I mostly like the other aspects of the game.
Now, when I can see it is an obvious house favor I simply resign and move on to the next game.

AI Driven

The algorithm gives the computer component lots of double rolls over and over. It’s not mathematically possible for two humans playing together, for one person to get strings of double number rolls, days and days in a row. I was enjoying it! Then just like with other games in the Apple Arcade, the opponent to the algorithm is left facing impossible computer odds. 5 doubles for the computer to my 2, game after game?? I saw this with a card game too. The computer was dealt these unbelievable hands over and over. No one wants to constantly lose.
