User reviews

I never knew how badly I needed this

I’m extremely organized in my everyday life but I feel like a complete mess when it comes time to stuff my backpack. This app has been a godsend. I not only have a clear checklist now, but I also have weights and photos. I’ve been using this app to help me cut down needless additional items and it’s really helped me get to that ideal sweet spot. I’m not a review writer but I just felt the need to show some appreciation for such a great product that’s been so helpful in my favorite activity. Keep creating.

Response from developer

Love this. Thanks for taking the time to write it, especially if you don’t usually leave reviews. I’m glad the checklist, weights, and photos have turned packing from chaos into a clear process and helped you trim the extras to hit your sweet spot. I appreciate the encouragement and I’ll keep adding features as time goes on. Enjoy the trails!

Fantastic

I'd been looking for an app where I could inventory my backpacking gear and plan what gear I will take on what trips. This app has it all and the developer has been fantastic to interact with. Should be a backpackers go-to app.

Saves time and simplifies so much

Loved the app when I first downloaded it a few months back and it just keeps getting better. The developer is very responsive and takes suggestions seriously: One of mine was recently implemented shortly after suggesting it! Great work!

Response from developer

Super happy to hear you loved the app when you first downloaded it. We strive to listen to our user base and if a suggestion aligns with our beliefs while keeping the app simplistic and minimal but adds relevant value, we're all for it. Thanks for the suggested nudge to add this feature sooner than later and we hope you have a wonderful time on your next adventure!

Nice app, great tech support!

I downloaded this app because I wanted to see if it would be a good app for my upcoming backpacking trip. ( as a side note - I’ve been backpacking for over 45 years, so I have a refined and detailed list ) Overall, it’s been a good app.

I asked Dan if he could add a “notes” addition to each item because my personal list has several notes ( what I bring may vary depending on length of trip, weather, quantities, etc ). He added that option in this release! I appreciated his quick response.

At this point I rated it a 4. As I continue using it, I may adjust that higher, but I wanted to give the app a “full workout” first. But overall, it matches what I need.

My only “downside ( if that’s the right term)” is requiring a model for each item. Some of my items I have no idea what brand and model they are. So for the “brand” I’ll add something like “towel” and for the model I will enter “8x16 REI towel for drying”, or “sandals” for the brand and “sandals for river crossings” for the model. Nothing major, but a minor inconvenience.

Anyway, as I continue using the app, I will probably adjust my review. But overall, this seem like a good backpacking app that I would recommend

Response from developer

Thank you for the thoughtful review. It really means a lot, especially coming from someone with over 45 years of backpacking experience. I'm glad the new notes field is working for you, and I appreciate that you reached out with that suggestion. As for the required model field, it's there to ensure each item has a clear, identifiable label that keeps your gear list organized and easy to search. This also makes finding specific items much faster and more accurate as your list grows. It doesn't have to be a technical model name. Just something that makes sense to you. For example, the brand could be "REI" and the model could be "towel 8x16." Or, for something more generic like food, the brand might be "Costco" and the model could be "mixed nuts." That’s actually what I do in my own lists. Then, with the new notes field, you can add any extra context or alternatives. Thanks again for taking the time to write such a detailed review. Hope your next trip comes together smoothly and gives you plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors.

Private, Personal, Pack Itemizer..well done!

The App is thoughtful in its simplicity, offering the outdoorsman, hiker, traveler or the like a quick and accessible means of organizing gear inventory by
helpful categories in a ready to roll template or customized manually as you prefer. Additionally, the ability to factor weight per item in your inventory is a forethought by a developer that understands the trail. Developer was very responsive to communication/ inquiry and showed excellence and professionalism in his customer care. Great app!
