Needs a bit of work
I want to start with saying you can’t really do quite literally anything before buying a subscription but everything is just a bit confusing with the wording and way it’s set up. They also won’t make your profile public unless you buy a membership so you wouldn’t be able to reach out to anybody looking for candidates unless you pay money anyways. The ad for this app looked good so I had high hopes since I am a young actor and was looking for some more opportunities in my area even then it only showed me jobs out of my age range and far away from where I live so that was annoying. not only could I not find much similar to what I was looking for but even if I did I wouldn’t be able to reach out or audition without whipping out my credit card. Just letting you guys know it’s not free but hey maybe if you tried with a subscription it would be different.

A bug?
There appears to be a bug. I have been using the mobile version everyday and there no longer is a filter section. At first i thought i was crazy. But it isngone

Good for freelancers, HORRID for employers
Why does no one care that you can’t properly view submissions? It’s been years without this feature, and as someone who creates listings often, this is unacceptable.
Not as Good as it Should Be
This app is frustrating. Despite multiple attempts to save filters for jobs, I keep getting irrelevant results. I live in New Mexico. I can’t get notifications about results locally. I get notifications about jobs around the world. I’ve used other applications like this, so my only conclusion is that it just doesn’t work correctly.

App is being buggy
I’m trying to put down my skills, links, resume, highlights, credits, etc. But the app is telling me that there’s a network error. I tried deleting and reinstalling, nothing worked. I logged out and it still kept sending me the same error.

They have bots posting fake auditions this is a scam
Update: to the dev responding. Stop your lying this has been pointed out on multiple message boards this is 100% a scam.

Best thing I ever did for my career!
Over 25 years in radio, over the last few years I’ve been dabbling in VO. Tried other P2P’s with varied success. Decided to give Backstage a shot, booked a commercial that played during the Super Bowl and it catapulted my career. Got signed by an agent, but still book consistently and independently through Backstage. Thankful for the opportunities and ease of auditioning. 🙏🏻

Easy to use
Love it. It’s simple to use. Very user friendly.
It is a money trap
The concept sounds great. No free trial. You pay $20 to try, and realize that the app is useless especially for UGC content creators. They just keep sending you fake job posting that no one ever gets back.

Doesn’t allow me to edit anything on my account, and I no longer can log in using my email attached, only allows logins via apple and google.

Super easy to find casting calls. You can even search for crew opportunities. Great app. Although you do have to pay.

I love this app! I have always wanted to be an actor/singer and this app is really helping me achieve my dreams. I do wish that there were more roles for children/teens as me (13) and my sister (9) would really like to audition for more stuff. However, I know that this is out of the app’s control and this app works great!
Edit: I recently signed up for the yearly payment, and I’ve realised that there are many children’s roles in this app. Thank you Backstage!

Decent
I’m still waiting to connect with a gig through this personally, but friends have recommended it.
So far I like it. My only critique is having a “remember me” option. I keep getting notifications and having to log in when I open them just brings me to the general posting page. I would like to see the posts I get notifications for 😅

We have a feature called a saved search, which allows you to save your filters and simply tap on the name of the saved search to activate the filters and bypass the need to manually fill it out each time you visit the app/website. New UI sucks
Just updated yesterday and I cannot find the filter button. I have specific ones that I use depending on where I’m at and now I can’t find any with this new UI.

we subscribed to this program and it has been extremely difficult to cancel
You have to pay to MAYBE get a job
It is what it is but, most people are probably looking for something you don’t have to pay to find gigs for. If you just want to find/apply to gigs for free this is not for you.
