Glitches might be the best part?
Play on medium and you get a decent gameplay experience reminiscent of the original computer game. Very easy to win by 100 points+ but gameplay feels right. Play on hard and all bets are off. What do you mean my team of elite shooters is hitting 10% from the free throw line??? Why is every other possession a turnover?? But these quirks also hold true for the CPU team so it’s kind of balanced and imo ultimately the best way to play. For even more fun: turn “out of bounds on” and keep “violations” off and you can run around with the ball and shoot from your own bench, behind the basket etc (and get stuck in some crazy glitches). PS i know Pablo is the face franchise but true heads know Basketball’s true OP is Dimitri (and in football it’s Pete)!

Bug in Playoffs Prevents Finishing Season
In the last game of the championship, the user switches teams with the computer. If you save at any point following this, your data is corrupted and you can’t open the coach again.

Incompatible with iPhone
I was looking forward to playing this on my phone, but unfortunately, it doesn’t translate at all. Shooting is pretty much impossible and the gameplay just doesn’t hold up. It’s free for a reason.

Great Classic, Poor Mobile Controls
Backyard Basketball ’01 is a classic PC game and it shows in both good and bad ways. The charm, characters, and backyard atmosphere are all still here and bring back a lot of nostalgia. However, the controls on mobile are rough and clearly weren’t designed with touch screens in mind.
Movement feels awkward, timing shots is inconsistent, and the virtual buttons don’t translate well from the original keyboard and mouse design. It’s fun in short bursts, but the controls can be frustrating enough to take away from the experience.
If you grew up with the PC version, it’s still worth trying for nostalgia. Just don’t expect a smooth or modern mobile control experience.

awful game, the opponent ai spams you with steals and fouls whenever you inbound the ball, moving the ball up court can be a nightmare, your players will randomly run out of bounds when you try passing to them or the player will move out the way of a pass you have just thrown to them, like the games are riddled with turnovers and steals and it just removes from the fun. very hard to enjoy

Bug when shooting
Whenever I try to shoot the ball with one of my players they will start their motion but the ball will not leave their hands. It is only in season play mode. For me if this was not happening it would be five stars.
Controls?
Where are the buttons? And why is half of the screen wasted by a green useless border?
Love Backyard sports
We really need to fix the ability to play the game with a mouse/ Magic Keyboard. The game was originally for computers, can we please fix it so this can be more like the old days.

Love this game favorite character is Kenny cause I’m also a wheelchair user and the fact he’s like Steph curry is a bonus again fun game sometimes wished there be replays but again this game is fun as hell and this is coming from a gen z guy
Kinda tough
Pretty hard to play on a smartphone, especially because characters will randomly stop running and you have to continue to tap the screen to get them to keep running. Should leave it on easy mode if you want to have fun with it.
