About

Badcoin is a simple, non-custodial wallet for the Badcoin blockchain. You import a private key you already control, and the app gives you a clean way to use it on your iPhone: coins, Bad Pixies, and Glyphs. COINS - Import a Badcoin private key (WIF format): paste it or scan a QR code. - See your balance and your address as a QR code. - Send Badcoin to any Badcoin address on mainnet. The wallet builds and signs the transaction on your phone, then broadcasts it to the network. - Activity feed of recent transactions (sent, received, internal) with the BAD amount, short transaction ID, confirmations, and time. - An ordinary send never spends the small outputs that hold Bad Pixies, so a payment cannot sweep a Pixie by accident. BAD PIXIES - See the Bad Pixies any Badcoin address holds, drawn on your phone from the recipe recorded on chain. - Certified Pixies: each Pixie is checked against the HollerWisps indexer. Pixies minted by the Badcoin premint or the faucet treasury show the Pixie coin and "Certified". Copies from any other minter show "Not certified". - Your own Pixie address: Pixies held there are out of reach of an ordinary send. One tap moves an older Pixie onto it. - Send a Pixie to another holder. GLYPHS - Look up GLY1 Glyphs inscribed on Badcoin for any address. - Inscribe a new Glyph naming any Badcoin address. Glyphs cannot be transferred; inscribing one for someone else is a gift, not a transfer. THE TRUST MODEL, HONESTLY Whoever holds the private key owns the wallet, and everything in it, Pixies included. If you type or scan a private key into this app, the app treats you as the owner. Apps cannot tell who you are or whether the key is "really" yours: only the math can. Protect your key like cash. If you lose your phone, your coins and Pixies are not lost, as long as you still have the private key elsewhere. If you lose the private key, they are gone permanently. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO - It does not create a key for you. You bring your own. - It does not back up your key. If you delete the app or wipe the device, the key is gone unless you have it written down somewhere else. - It does not have a PIN, password, or Face ID lock inside the app. iOS unlocks the Keychain when your phone is unlocked. That is the only protection. - It does not custody your coins or Pixies, take a fee beyond the standard network fee paid to miners, or report your activity to anyone. - It does not facilitate token sales, ICOs, fiat conversion, or in-app purchases. - It does not support multiple wallets at once. To switch wallets, tap Clear Wallet and import a different key. NETWORK The wallet reads balances and history from the public Badcoin block explorer at explorer.badcoin.dev and broadcasts signed transactions through it. To find and certify Bad Pixies it also asks the read-only HollerWisps indexer at alpha-faucet.badcoin.dev. Your private key never leaves your phone. PRIVACY This app collects no data. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising. The only third-party code in the app is a cryptography library (secp256k1) that performs key derivation and signing locally on your device. ABOUT BADCOIN Badcoin started as a community memecoin in 2018 and went dormant. It was revived by an independent group of contributors. This wallet is part of that revival: a deliberate, small iPhone client that respects the project's no-control, community-owned ethos. There is no company behind it and no support contract, just a group of hobbyists who care about the chain. SUPPORT Badcoin is a hobbyist project. There is no formal support team. Issues and questions go to the project's public channels.

What's New in Badcoin Wallet

1.0

Certified Bad Pixies: each Pixie is checked against the HollerWisps indexer. Pixies minted by the BadCoin premint or the faucet treasury show the Pixie coin and "Certified". Copies from any other minter show "Not certified". Pixie addresses: your wallet now has its own Pixie address. Pixies held there are out of reach of an ordinary BAD send, so a normal payment can never sweep one by accident. Move to my Pixie address: one tap moves an older Pixie off your spending address onto your Pixie address. Safer sends: an ordinary BAD send no longer spends the small outputs that hold Pixies. Glyphs: look up and inscribe GLY1 Glyphs on BadCoin.
