Nice
Latest Version Is Great!
Great app EVEN IF you had to buy it again!
The fact that people rate the app itself a 1 star over their dissatisfaction over payment is absurd! Grow up and look around! Other developers make you buy a new version EVERY year, stop complaining and give developer some credit considering that this app is even better then the original BA II Calc app from Texas Instruments.
A word to developers… KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Thank You!!

Hands Down, The Best BA II Pro Calculator App!
The developer continuously maintains the app and ensures that it stays updated relative to the iOS / iPadOS ecosystem. I used the predecessor for close to a decade and never had to pay for an upgrade, but I get that the latest changes to the OS will likely make for a lot of work to ensure that the apps not only run, but take advantage of the latest features. The fact is that you’re getting a very powerful virtual calculator for around $9, which is a one time fee, one that will last many years before another major overhaul will warrant the creation of a brand new app to take its place. To my delight, the developer also chooses to not mess with subscriptions as he realizes that he won’t be benefiting his customer base. All said, I am happy to support this developer in the rollout of this rewrite because I know that I will likely be able to rely on it for the next decade or so. That’s a very good value if you think about it.
I only wanted to make the above point as I read some reviews that didn’t do this developer justice. That’s a shame, so I wanted to make a point from an actual regular user as to what you are truly getting. The technical functionality of this calculator blows away any competing app to include the official one (and it’s about $6 less expensive too)!
What I like best:
• The “tape” is very useful to follow your work when entering many lines, for example when doing a manual reconcile.
• The help features are top notch as it’s like getting one of the best manuals written on the product alongside the very functional calculator.
• The “EasyCalcs” are one of my favorite tools as it makes certain functions a breeze, a good example is loan amortization.
• And, I was happy to see how easy it is to resize and move your calculator exactly where you want in iOS 26. The position is even saved for the next use.
The verdict is that you’re getting an excellent business calculator from a proven reliable developer, and all for a decent price. Just buy or upgrade it, like me you’ll be happy that you did!
Great Business Model… If You Like Paying Twice
When I asked about it, the response was basically: tough luck, give me more money. Apparently, the business model here is: sell you an app, let it break, then charge you again. Clever for the developer, terrible for customers.
If you enjoy buying the same app twice, this is for you. Otherwise, steer clear.
This is the new iOS 26 version.
Update works well
You pay again for at iOS upgrades!
Response from developer
BA Finance Pro first came out in 2010, the same year the iPhone 4 with Retina display was released. Apple stopped supporting the iPhone 4 in 2014. But guess what? I managed to keep BA Finance Pro running for over 4 times that long! There was no toll at each iOS cycle. Every year, Apple introduced new iOS features that required updates. They also regularly removed old software libraries that the app depended on, which required a rewrite and new release. Over the past 15 years, BA Finance Pro has been upgraded to include retina graphics, Taptic interface, 64-bit computing, iPad slide over, Split View, multitasking, HTTPS security, dark mode, copy/paste, new currencies, new file system, Dynamic Island, auto layout, drag and drop, contextual help, iPad windowing and more! All those additions were delivered as FREE updates to users, no tolls were incurred. Unfortunately, the code base reached a point where it was no longer sustainable to keep up with Apple’s annual changes. BA Finance Prime is a rewrite that works with iOS26. It preserves the functionality of the previous app while building a firmer base going forward. It does not include ads, subscription fees or additional in-app purchases. It does not collect or sell your data. It works on your iPhone AND iPad. Developers have real expenses including annual fees to Apple, Web services and maintenance fees, internet service fees, hardware purchases of new iPhones and iPads for testing and also purchases of development machines for coding. And let's not forget the many hours spent coding, testing and supporting the updates. Apple does not reimburse developers for this work. Apple doesn’t offer discounts to developers for new hardware. All these expenses come directly from my pocket. So yes, this may be a money grab, but at some point the expenses must be paid. Is it a money grab when Apple no longer supports your old iPhone and you have to purchase a new one? How many new iPhones / iPads have you purchased since 2010? Where did YOU grub the money for purchasing those iPhones?
