Overall good - PDF export issue

For a different reason to help reinforce and learn a tune — unbeatable, frankly. Visuals, timings and a vast amount of tunes to readily search and add. My challenge is in using the inbuilt PDF export feature. No matter if my phone is in portrait or landscape, the export to PDF is so crushed, that it makes it unintelligible. If a solution to this is out there, I’m more than happy to go the whole hog give this app a 5* review

Sometimes you just need to resize the musical notes and create pdf again. Try it…

Help

Not sure where to go to ask for some help. Could you let me know please? Can we upload other songs other than what comes with the app?

Not User Friendly

Bought this to write pipe music, but it is far from user friendly - when opened you get a list of already written out tunes but no apparent instructions on how to compose. Waste of money at this point.

Every piper and drummer needs this app

A great app that every piper and drummer should have. Thousands of tunes are available for download and, I haven't used it much, you can use the built in tune writer. It is like having a teacher to play with any time. Everyone in the pipe band has this app now and some even bought ipads just because of this app.

I can't wait for the optical sheet music recognition update but no word when, or if, that will happen.

Thank you for your kind words about the app. Unfortunately, the optical note recognition feature had to be phased out due to sanctions and lack of interest. However, the app has been developed for Apple TV. If there is interest I can include you in the group of testers of the application. I will not sell it yet as the funds are blocked in AppleStore.

Had Higher Hopes

I have several thousand tunes in BMW and BWW format. I manage them on my PC with the full Windows version. I was hoping to use this player on my iPad. Got it installed but it doesn’t work very well. Gave up.

Response from developer

Hi, can you describe in detail what you don't like about the app, I think users of the app would be interested in what it means: “very well”

Doesn’t quite work

This app seems really promising, because it will be really useful to be able to read and play .bww files on my phone and iPad, but it doesn’t quite work. I can download files from Dropbox, to the app, but the file organization scheme is poor, and if I try to open any files that didn’t come with the app, it either freezes or crashes. I feel like I have wasted so much time trying to get it to work, so it has both cost me money, and time, without any benefit. Alas. I hope it is improved to actually work in the future.

I am very sorry for your lost time. Do you have trouble with the app now? Do you change your mind about the app? Please write to me I'll help you with problems if you have it.

Awesome!

I’ve had the bagpipe player on my computer for years. I’m so happy I have it on my phone!!!! Cheers!

Fantastic Versatile

Excellent app with extremely useful functionality and the ability to add an infinite number of new tunes to. Am getting back into piping after some time away from it and this app has helped a great deal bringing me back up to speed.

The individual who posted the negative review about the limited number of tunes available in the initial download may not yet have understood the app’s ability to import BWW files from a wide variety of free sources. It has taken me a little while to figure this out but I assure you one could add literally thousands of tunes to this app if one so desired.

Keep up the good work, Alex, you are performing a great service for the bagpiping community.

Thank you for the kind and truthful words about the app.

Great helper App for piping.

Trying to interpret a bagpipe music sheet is made easy by this app.

Extremely useful app for new bagpipers

I love this app, it has helped me tremendously in learning new tunes both as a beginner and a pipe band member. I use my Dropbox to download the bands tunes to the app, plug one earbud up to my phone or iPad and the other to my electronic chanter then hammer away at learning tunes playing along with the app and built in metronome. I slow it down at first and work my way up to tempo. I’ve had an occasional issue with certain tunes not playing right but the developer is extremely responsive to fix it. I still have an occasional issue with certain notes hanging up (sorta a digital distortion sound) but it isn’t consistent enough to nail down the problem and the tune continues after the hiccup. Also if I have a 2 to 3 tune set loaded into the app and flag just the first tune to play on repeat, it tends to not recognize the repeated measures. A slight annoyance but manageable enough to work around.

Donwloading tunes

I have a problem downloading tunes called support they have not made any attempt to help me

Response from developer

Dear friend, I didn't have got messages, emails, phone call from you. How I can to know about you problem? You is very cheerful man! Best wishes for you! First simple way: Open a Finder window. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer with a USB cable. Select your device in the Finder. Learn what to do if your computer doesn't recognize your device. Click the Files tab to see a list of apps that can share files. If you don't see a Files section, your device doesn't have any apps that can share files. Click the triangle next to an app to see the files that you can share. 📷 Copy from your Mac to your device Select the files that you want to copy. Select only files that work with the app. Check the app’s user guide to see which ones work. Drag the files to the app on your device. The Finder copies the files to your device.

Great app...excellent support

This is a fantastic app. Eliminated my huge music folder and replaced it with my iPad.

Excellent

This app is great for all musical needs

Very useful

I’m just starting learning playing the bagpipes and this app has been very useful!!
I wish it comes with more documentation on how to write files myself!

Works OK

I have purchased this and with the tunes that come with it it works fine, however once I connect to my Dropbox account it does not want to transfer them over. I have sent messages to the developers on Facebook and their own site and never had any reply.

Excellent - fun to practice with

I was looking for an iOS app for practice and learning and this is it. Lot’s of features for playback and editing. Simple integration with Dropbox for adding and storing files. Easy to use with adjustable tempo etc. Now I need to find a .bww exchange site. Kudos and thanks to the developer - good job!

Must have app for bagpipers

This is a must have app for anyone who is learning to play the bagpipes. Being able to have the music with me wherever I am allows me to practice whenever I want. Having the music play while I am practicing helps me learn the notes and the timings as they should be played.

Features keep being added on a regular basis and the developer is very responsive to questions.

I fully recommend this app.

This is the app I was looking for

It is so stupid simple, but keeps those BWW files all organized... AND it has a lot of more complicated feature, such as metronome and adjusting of many aspects of playback. It comes with a good set of songs and easily integrates with Drop Box to add your own collection(=

Crashing

Anything I try and edit, the app crashes, consistently. A bit disappointed.

Waste of money

Only 90 tunes on the App. I wish I knew that ahead of time. No Balmoral. Complete waste of money. wish I knew how to get a refund.

Response from developer

Dear friend, you put a wrong opinion about the app. Only test account of the Dropbox has over 5000 tunes. You can download any your tunes to app by different ways. Be attentive and read the support site. I'll glad to answer you questions already. Wish best to you!
